Just Brakes ripoff bait and switch tactics Dallas Texas
I took my 2003 Toyota Sequoia to Just Brakes, Midway Rd, Dallas TX. They quoted me $277 to turn my rotars and replace the brake pads. I left the vehicle for the work to be done. Within the hour, Eric called to advise, he found an additional $300 in problems with the calipers and the shocks. It became clear I was becoming a victim of Deceptive Trade Practices and a bait and switch scam.
I demanded to pick my vehicle up, at first, Eric told me I would still owe the $277, even though the work was not completed. I had to call the corporate office to be able to pick my vehicle up without charge. when I drove off, the vehicle was making a grinding, dragging noise and was not safely drivable. i had to incur a towing expense of $65 to have vehicle towed to the dealership. Not to mention, that I am now 40 miles from my home and no transportation.
The dealership inspected the vehicle and found that the rotars will now need to be completely replaced. Just Brakes turned the rotars to a size not within compliance of the vehicle standards. In addition to this, there were now fresh grooves in the rotar where Just Brakes had reassembled the brake system and caused further damage to the rotars. They also confirmed that there was not any damage or work needed to my calipers or shocks.
