Complaint Review: KEL Attorneys - Tampa Florida

I will try to explain this as simple as possible and so many words. I am a widow  with six children. I was one payment behind on my motgage that got misconstrued  when I refinanced at a lower rate. My mortgage holder is Bank Of America. Bank  Of America would not work out a payment plan with me and was being notified that  they could foreclose on my home. I inquired about KEL Attorneys, as I had seen  there advertisement on TV. I could not afford there services as I was currently  paying my mortgage. KEL Attorneys told me to STOP Paying on my mortgage so that  Bank Of America would talk to them and so I could afford to pay them! KEL also  told me that they could get my home modified and also possibly get a big portion  of the price of my home reduced being the market crashed and my home was worth  only half of what I paid for it! Mr. Schmist also advised me that KEL Attorneys  fees had gone up a $100 since I had last talked with them! I also paid an extra  $100 for So-called credit Counseling to restore my credit after the  modification. I was told the credit counseling was good for only 12 months. I  trusted KEL and agreed. KEL started payments December 2010. Talk about Scam  Artist!!! I mailed and faxed over ALL documents required to modify my home. I  heard from NO ONE! I called and was told other paperwork was needed. I re-did  ALL paperwork Again! I still heard from No ONE! Every time I called I was  transferred to a different person! A few months later I was on my Death bed  fighting for my Life! I was in and out of the hospital for three (3) months with  tubes sticking out of my body to keep me Alive until the Dr could do surgery on  me! I immediately called KEL as I had yet to hear from anyone?! I called and was  told to re-send AGAIN my paperwork! I could barely walk with the use of a walker  and went out of my way to the next County and asked a favor from someone to fax  over ALL paperwork for me! I called the very next day to make sure ALL paperwork  was received amd spoke with a man named Keith Heslin. His reply to me was "Yes,  I got your paperwork and don't care, we need more money!" I was in shock,  knowing my situation, and I was Appalled at what he had said to me! I replied  that I refuse to pay more money for services that I had already paid for and had  not been rendured! He replied "Then there is nothiong else we can do for you  until you pay us more money!" Every time I attempted to contact KEL I was  transferred to "Client Services" So, The next day I complained and demanded to  speak with a Lawyer. I was transferred to an Intern Attorney ! Really? The  intern Attorney said that my contract is up (12 months). There is and Never was  a contract for 12 months, that was suppose to be for the So-called "Credit  couseling!" So, the intern attorney said he would extend my contract due to my  condition and that I needed to RE-SEND AGAIN ALL paperwork! The intern attorney  said that he would send out new forms to me. I waited and waited...No new forms  were Ever sentto me! I then received a letter from KEL Attorneys stating that  they have dropped me and my case is closed!!! Seriously?!?! My house is Now  under foreclosure and about to loose my home!!! I filed a complait with the  Florida Bar Association! I still till today 01-24-2013 tried to work things out  with KEL Attorneys and called on 01-23-13 and left a message, as I could Not get  in touch with anyone, so I had to leave a message and wait 24 hours for them to  return my call, as they did NOT return my call so, I called again today and  spoke with a Jonathan in Client Services and explained ALL over AGAIN the  situation. (I even sent a Certified Letter to KEL Attorneys requesting a refund  being services were Not rendered and so that I may retain another Attorney!)  Jonathan said he would get back with me...Jonathan did call me back approx. 20  minutes later to inform me that I need to have a new contract (renew) and pay  there fees AGAIN!!! I have ALL documented paperwork and there is and was never a  12 month contract! As a paralegal myself, I would've Never had agreed to those  terms from day one (1)!!! I even asked Mr. Schmidt when he personally came to my  home while we sat at my dining room table...VERBATIM...if my contract was for 12  months and he replied "NO" the 12 months is Only for the credit restoration!!! I  want to file a Class Action Lawsuit Against KEL Attorneys! I also want to get  there License Revoked so that they can Not do this to Anyone  else!"BEWARE...BEWARE...BEWARE Of These Attorneys!"
