1) If someone in your house won't leave - Call the police. 2) Always read an entire contract before signing it. If you didn't follow the two rules above, and you find yourself in a legally binding contract, whether it for a vacuum or an automobile, chances are you would have wasted the same amount of money on the next door to door salesman's product. People don't understand two facts about Door to Door salesmen, and Direct lenders. 1) Of course it's a hard sell. Thats why they're profession is called, "salesperson." The more an individual sells, be it cars or sweepers or farm equipment, the more that salesperson makes. 2) It *is* a fact, a certain percentage of the population cannot say NO to sales pitches, or themselves. Either it's a vacuum, a car, a $2000 audio system in that car while your credit cards aren't getting paid, or the london bridge. I suppose it's unfortunate if you are one of the above people. I, on one hand, have never had a problem telling someone a) they're not coming in my house, or b) it is now time to leave my house. (Don't you have Jehova's where you live?) I learned, from my Mother, of all people, to read the fine print on anything you sign. I thought I was accepting a financial aid package "in case," I chose to attend a certain college. It turnes out I signed up for four years. People may say, "it's unethical to pursue a population that cannot say, "no," to a salesman." Have you bought a car or truck lately? You are aware that the price you paid for that vehicle, and the price the guy before you paid for the same model, may vary by thousands of dollars, right? If you're travelling, you will probably pay more than locals, from street vendors and such. Are you aware of that? It's the same thing and it's perfectly fine for some people to do, but not others? I've never seen a Kirby, or a Kirby Salesperson. But I know there there is no dang way I'd agree to pay $1000 for any vacuum. And, if I had, I wouldn't try to get out of it a month later. Just like I pay my credit card bill on time every month. They're raping me on interest, but I signed the contracts and I borrowed the money. I can't call CaptilOne and tell them I want out of the deal because I was pressured by the salesperson at sears to buy that new 26HP John Deer Garden Tractor, can I?
