Please be aware of this deceitful calcuating manipulator as she will steal your story ideas and make them her own. The Anthony Walsh Story/screen play is a rip off. She may be of aboriginal descent, however, using aboriginal hard luck stories in order to garner sympathy and use it for personal fame and gain when she herself has been happily married for many years with a supportive family - there is no hard luck story. She will use "aboriginal" issuesto her advantage to market and sell her selfish, ego maniac self - will stop at nothing, step on everyone and leave a path of destruction in her wake. Don't trust this negative and thieving person with any stories you have to tell because she will make them her own.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to write such an insulting letter of defamation. If you would have left your name I could've thanked you personally (or maybe "Cora" from Vancouver) is your real name?
You sure seem to know
a lot about me even though I've never met anyone named "Cora" from
Vancouver (let alone anyone who would have such knowledge on my heritage or
Anthony Walsh).
So, I am assuming that
we have met but you're simply too cowardly to leave your own name on this post
because the majority of it is FALSE. Although one may see the internet as a
means of anonymity, it is not.
If you think you are
doing the world a service by dragging my name through the mud, then please do
so as I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And please be sure
to sign your full name if it's something you truly stand behind.
I can't control you or
what you do. You could be defaming me on the internet or in person and there is
nothing I could do about it. I have a strong feeling of who you might be but I
refuse to engage this drama. There's only one truth here.
Whoever wrote these
two postings is welcome to email me personally with any of these concerns. You
can find me on facebook, twitter, or linkedin. Now, here are some responses to
some of your 'observations';
Do I feel rightly
entitled (and honored) to be telling the Anthony Walsh story? YES,
legally and culturally.
Do I have a loving and
supportive family? YES! Does that exclude me from being a writer or a
storyteller?
Have the effects of
colonial, paternalistic, racist attitudes (and assimilation attempts) affected
my entire family to an extent? YES
Yes, my husband and I
are both descendants of the Okanagan Nation but I am also of Finnish and
British ancestry. Shall we get out a needle and start measuring the amount of
blood that comes from each?
There are so many
important stories to be told. This one is about Anthony Walsh and his legacy.
Okanagan Day School students in the area also play a role. The story of Mr.
Walsh and his students is a remarkable one, and one that I am doing my very
best to honor.
Furthermore, it is far
from a 'hard luck story' as your beautifully crafted 'post of negativity'
suggests. This is a story of triumph in the midst of a tragic era in Canadian
history.
My research on Mr.
Walsh has taken me from Osoyoos to Victoria to Montreal, and I am now faced
with the daunting task of having to sum up a man of such courage and love.
You hear about people
being defamed and wrongfully accused; identity theft, fraud, etc, but you never
really understand how it feels until it happens to you.
So thank you for
leaving a permanent smear record on my name, you sure didn't hold back. But to
you I wish good luck, good fortune, and peace in your heart.
Mr. Walsh would expect
nothing less.
