Bill Gephardt is a supposed consumer advocate who broadcasts his stories on KUTV Channel 2 here in Salt Lake City. He has been asked NUMEROUS times to do investigative stories on the local car dealerships and the scams they are pulling on unsuspecting consumers. Mr. Gephardt has even been given material to back up these claims that he could check for himself but yet has not done so. If this man is truly a consumer advocate then he would do stories on these dealerships and be damned the revenue that his station gets from dealership advertising. The RIP-OFF here are the watchers of this guy and KUTV for paying him. Mr. Gephardt is doing his viewers a disservice. Michael West Jordan, Utah

I contacted Matt Gephardt for assistance, I literally pleaded, begged him through phone messages and emails for his help. When he finally returned my calls it was all but too late, he did however promise to meet me for an interview in an effort help others from not going through what I had. I provided him with a great deal of documentation as he requested since he understandably wasn't sure I was telling the truth. I had been evicted from Windmill Cove apartments over a $40 disagreement, the property management removed most of my belongings, locked me out and when I attempted to retrieve medication for my epilepsy was refused entry and ended up having a siezure in the office. The property manager actually told fire/rescue she believed I had been cooking meth in the apartment, yet this did not stop them from removing practically everything I owned.
Despite a court order preventing the sale of my posessions, the attorney for property management announced he was going to sell my belongings unless I came up with more then $3000 and signed a document stating I would not sue him or the property management or the individual who removed my property. There is a lot more to the story and I provided all the information to Matt Gephardt, but he couldn't be bothered. I was not allowed due process, my health was seriously impacted, Mr. Gephardt claimed he would meet with me in front of Windmill Cove to do an interview. Despite my providing him with the information he requested, he did not keep his word.
I do not know how he chooses the stories, had we not spoken or he not asked me for information which I provided, I would not be bothered. While I mean no disrespect to the individual who says he respectfully disagrees, ask Matt to let you read the documents Jaie Cutler sent him, especially the Writ from Kirk Cullimore, the document showing all of the items removed from the apartment I rented. Let me know if you feel that way, I had an attorney who at one point caused me to wonder if he may be in collusion with Mr. Cullimore. Each time I had an opportunity to go before a judge this attorney would cancel the appearance claiming he would talk with Mr.Cullimore only to state no progress was made.
Ironically, the day before Mr. Cullimore gave as the deadline for me to give the money and sign over every constitutional right I was supposed to have, this attorney told me he was letting the court know he was withdrawing as my council. Mr Gephardt may been able to help others avoid the likes of Windmill Cove Management and Mr.Cullimore, maybe even help me maintain some of my constitutonal rights, I don't know. I do not believe him to be the hero or the altruist he paints himself to be, I mean no offense, I believed in him and was hopeful when he contacted me. Then I didn't hear from him again. No explanation, nothing. Later I saw a story he did about a couple who were trying to get a $3000 refund, they weren't kicked out of their home, stripped of their constitutional rights, made a purchase for something that didn't turn out to be quite what they expected. Guess Altruits decide what they feel are "just"?

Most TV stations will not do any stories on car dealers that advertise with them. TV stations do not like to expose crazy crap in the auto industry because that's where they get most of their advertising dollars from. Does this car dealer advertise on this TV station yes or no?

How close did I come to the truth? IF you TRULY have been illegally treated by a dealer, notify your states dealer licensing commission. They, also, won't act if it's just because YOU didn't exercise due diligence in making your deal(s).

You can always send your story to networks that are not influenced by the advertisers, like FRONTLINE/WGBH and Democracy Now. I believe that both of their addresses are available at this website. Just type in 555030 and scroll down to the consumer comment that was posted on August 27, 2012 at Ripoff Report #555030.
Good luck to you, and make sure to expose your Ripoff Report all over the web at sites like Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and Facebook every day!
