Complaint Review: LA Music Awards - Nationwide

Wow! Let me first say that I was just searching online to see if I could find some videos of this past years LA Music Awards events. I was appalled, when I had come across the negative comments, regarding Al Bowman and the LA Music Awards. In 2013, I was the Solo Performer of the Year and had gotten an award for this. Never in my dealings, had I experienced any negativity. The award was won, based on votes and artist popularity. As a nominee, the artist is required to purchase 20 tickets, below the cost of what they can be sold for. Al Bowman had also thrown in about 5 extra tickets to sell. It isn't very hard to give away or sell 20 tickets to the Whisky-A-Go-Go, which is sold out.

                I was offered the opportunity to get sponsorship and play at the main event, which would have been a tremendous opportunity and great opportunity for further publicity and exposure. However, I was unable to participate on that level, at the time. Based on me not being able to, I hadn't experienced any negativity from the producers of the awards. As a matter affect, my participation in the events had led to many contacts and opportunities, that had stemmed from the marketing, through the events. The winning of the award had opened the eyes of many to "BROBST". Al Bowman had even contacted me, before the main event, to let me know that I was chosen to be featured on the 2013 LA Music Awards Best Compilation. Did I pay for this???? NO!!! I sure did not and would not. This was done, because they had believed in my music.

                I hadn't had the opportunity to meet Susanna Griffie in person. However, I had dealt with her on the telephone, as well as through emails. She was sweet and honest about everything. I do hope that I will be nominated and win and award for the 2015 LA Music Awards. Please remember the saying that "A horse can be led to water. However, it is up to them to drink". In this business, no one owes you anything. Utilize what you have and take the opportunities that present themselves.  If you are a nominee and lucky enough to win an award. Promote the hell out of it! DO NOT slam other people, when you don't know how business is supposed to work. The money that is brought in from the sponsorships is used to put on the events. Where would the money come from, of these opportunities weren't available? For anyone that is unsure about the LA Music Awards, please feel free to contact me directly.

Thanks to my internet savvy friends, I found out just who the "Rocker Girl" is, where she lives and who her band is. One might think that she represnts a large contingent of artists and bands who are against being seen by the mass media on a red carpet and mingling with celebrities, but she is not. What she is angry at her own drummer, whose loyalty was with another band on 11/12/14 at the Avalon Theater who played with another "Rocker Girl" onour stage that night, which I believe has caused her to lash out at me personally because of his actions.

Now that I know exactly who she is, allow me to take the opportunity to state that in 2015, the "fake" Los Angeles Music Awards as she refers to it as, will become a tv show and will air 20 times under an air time buy aggrement between ourselves and a major cable network. This means an incredible opportunity for all of the artists who are our friends and supporters and not for those who are on our A**hole List, which is for life for people like "Rocker Girl". Make no mistake, if you choose the path that "Rocker Girl" has taken, and we will find out who you are and when we prove you have attacked us with false and misleading allegations, we will make sure that anyone we know in this business will never help you, your band and anyone connected to you. That is a promise.

I want to let any artist or band who might attempt this type of thing in the future be forewarned, that the Los Angeles Music Awards and its affiliated producers have the resources to find out your ISP address and your email address to find and pin point where these attacks originate. No one should be attacked this way and not be allowed to find out who their accuser is. I am going to be very vigilant in the future to pursue justice for myself and my organizations against these types of personal attacks.

These reprorts are getting very old and have reached a point of lowness that even Hollywood cannot compete with. I have stopped writing rebuttals to these far fetched and slanderous reports mostly because as anyone might notice, the people writing them almost never identify themselves. This one comes from another in a long line of bitter and angry musicians who think that I run some sort of charity for them. They also think that the music business owes them a living for their modicum of talent. I beieve that this particular report comes from the same anonymous slanderer that belongs to a band called COUNTLESS THOUSANDS and or some other new, old or on-going musical endeavor, who has other posts on line as well attacking me personally. Or it could be someone in a long line of the over 10,000 whom have come through our music pipeline since we started this program in 1991.

This artist credits himself with having the "guts" to post something without saying who he is, what year he was supposedly involved with our show and why he chose to attack our program and also drop the opportunity we offered his band. He calls me a pervert, a liar and a drunk. On what basis he states these things about me I have no idea. Let me state that I am a U.S. Army veteran, honorably discharged after serving as an 11 Delta Advance Scout in the late 1970's. I was stationed in Mannheim, Germany as part of the 8th Infantry Division. I worked Border Patrol between East and West Germany at the height of the Cold War. I have no arrest record, have never been charged with a crime, have never had a car accident, seroius illness or been drunk in public. I have not even had a speeding ticket or any kind of moving violation since 2003. To have this clown call me a "pervert" is purely slanderous and outrageous and has no connection to his claims against me or the LA Music Awards and it's 25 years of history. For the record, I ran a successful limousine company for over 10 years in LA from 1982 to 1992 and faithfully served clients like Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. Others I worked for included Madonna, Motley Crue, Prince, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Poison, Night Ranger, Doc McGhee, Ratt, Mario Maglieri, Lou Adler and hundreds of other luminaries at the highest level of the entertainment business. Google my name alongside with someone like Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson and you will see I speak the truth here.

Since 1991, the Los Angeles Music Awards has nominated close to 2,500 artists in many different musical categories and presented exactly 1,320 awards since our founding that year. Of those, over 70 artists and bands have gone onto major success AFTER being a participant in our annual; awards platform program.

In 2014, we had two separate jam packed red carpets, at the historic Avalon Theater located at Hollywood and Vine, with 71 members of the international mass media there to cover all of our participants arrivals, whether they were celebrities or independent artist nominees like this writer who ANONYMOUSLY posted this FALSE and DEFAMATORY written statement against me. In his feeble mind, he might actually be mentally challenged enough to believe that all of our 1,100 attendees were scammed, as were all of the press members along with the 55 LA Music Awards recipients who came to walk the red carpet and receive their well earned award plaques that night. What he is really doing here is venting about the fact that in 2012, he quit the awards program before doing even one of our THREE PRESS EVENTS that yuear, because like many in his world, he listened to the opinions of other musicians, his so called "friends in other bands", (hah, like there is such a thing!) and subsequently failed himself, his career aspirations and his fellow band mates. He is a loser, which is why he has no place anywhere in the entertainment business. I stand by my 25 year relationship to the high level, Hollywood Creative Community, the City of Los Angeles to which I am indigenous, and to all of the NEW TALENT we have so faithfully served that has always been the driving force behind the mystique of Hollywood and LA.lamusicawards.net
