We purchased two rather expensive LA-Z-BOY recliners several years ago. One of these units has been inoperable on four (4) occasions.     We were sold these units with a "lifetime warranty" and, so far, we have received negligible service.  We were told that we must bring this unit back to the store where we purchased it at our expense or that they would come to our home and pick it up at a charge of $89.95.  The distance is about four miles, and both my wife and I are disabled in our seventies.  We could not possibly life up the unit to a vehicle should we even have one that could handle such a bulky piece of furniture. Furthermore, they told us that if we could bring it back to the store that they would look at it and repair it if they could; otherwise, they would have to send it off to Mobile, Alabama, for repairs at an additional charge of $75.00 if they had the required parts on-hand there.When I objected to this so-called "lifetime warranty", I was told that I was raising my voice unnecessarily and was being put on a list where I would be arrested for trespassing if I came into the store again. Oh, and I was wished a merry Christmas by the manager there, who happened to be the "overseer" of my complaint, a 300 lb. blonde, red lipsticked woman, who decided that she could threaten my freedom of speech. I absolutely will never buy nor recommend LA-Z-BOY products from any outlet that has them and will advise against anyone purchasing one of these overadvertised, rip-off products with a worthless warranty.

After reading your "rebuttal", I was unimpressed to put it charitably - by the way, the word is WARRANTY.  I'm sure if you understood the meaning of such you would spell it correctly. As I understand your position, one actually buys a piece of furniture with the expectation of being charged for its use as a sort of "write off" over a period of time for depreciation.  Any costs incurred because of defective material is to be borne by the purchaser.  Any determination is to be determined by the seller, and the customer is to bear all these costs on this legendary lifetime warranty. The only costs borne by the seller are the cost of replacement parts; all other costs including repair labor are borne by the unfortunate purchaser - even those resulting from defective materials, design, or circumstance.

A disabled customer being told such isn't going to be very happy. As such, he/she might become agitated, but being threatened with arrest for trespassing to be determined solely by the porker manager, is absolutley an abrogation of the right of free speech. Please note, Madam, that free speech isn't necessarily vapid agreement with your position.  The LA-Z-Boy organization bears responsibility for such behavior as yours, and I feel relatively certain that such an organization, no matter how well it did in the past, will bear the consequences of its now defective merchandise and disgusting customer relations from the staff supposedly charged with besing the face of the coirporation to and selling customers.

 Your first amendment rights DO NOT give you the right to abuse employees. If they put you on a list to have you arrested for trespassing then you did MORE then just raise your voice. That course of action is reserved for those people who show their a*s in the store and abuse employees. I understand how you could be frustrated over the process but there are other avenues you can take to get your chair to the store. Maybe PAY someone to do the moving.

A warrenty, even a lifetime warrenty is not 100% all inclusive. There are going to be incidents that they do not cover. As such IF your warrenty doesnt cover a incident then you will have to pay for it yourself. Stop trying to duck out on whats yours to pay. You CANNOT expect them to eat ALL of the costs incured during YOUR use of the item. Thats WHY they tell you how much everything is going to cost.

Being a 70yr old means youre supposedly WISER then other younger people. If you got put on the trespass list then you REALLY showed your arse!! Why do you think that is appropriate. Just because you recieve information that is counter to your plans is no reason to do as you did. Maybe its a good thing that you were put on this list. They dont know how stable you are.

THET did not threaten YOUR freedom of speach, YOU DID BY YOUR ACTIONS. How about next time you go into a business you act like the adult youre supposed to be.
