Laurentian Financial/United Financial Group - CREDIT CARD SCAM
This is a warning for everyone to stay away from Laurentian Finance! I was flat-out LIED to by Laurentian Finance! They called me and said they would offer me a VISA card with a $3000 limit at 8.9%. I asked them this point blank a numerous times and everytime, they said YES!. They told me I would have it in time for my vacation in a week. The day before my trip came and still no card. I called their number, 1-866-484-1239 , and it was constantly busy. Amazingly, I finally got through and asked them where my card was. They knew nothing. Apparently, the sales department is at another number that they will not give you. They said I would just have to wait 15-20 days to receive my packet. I again asked them what the credit card limit and APR was and they said I would have to wait and see when it comes in the mail, that it was up to the banks!!!!!
I still haven't received my packet yet, but they certainly debited my checking account.
They seem to operate out of a P.O. Box in Santa Fe New Mexico.
PLEASE DO NOT GET RIPPED OFF LIKE I DID!
