After reviewing bank statements, We have uncovered $531 worth of unauthorized charges from Leaders.

We called up the customer service department and they explained to use that these charges were incurred from the use of "rewards cards", and an annual fee that was hidden. Both in which they said they would refund in full. Its been over 3 weeks, and we haven't seen any refunds.

We called in again to let them know we had not received our refunds and that we wanted leaders out of our lives. Customer service rep Steven Hayner was very rude, and refused to connect me to his manager directly. He also told us that we would get an early termination fee, which is just preposterous.

Angry and upset with how I was being treated, I stumbled upon ripoff report, and found people with the exact same problem:

At this point, we just want the refunds that were promised to us, and to be rid of this terrible company WITHOUT penalty. The only thing this company is the LEADERS of is hidden fees and empty promises.

Glad to see I got that promise to end our relationship with Leaders WITHOUT penalty IN WRITING. I am curious if they will hold down their end of the deal on this, or charge my credit card an extra $700 like they have done to others here on Ripoff Report trying to just get out of this hell. I eagerly await a phone call from LEADERS describing exactly what needs to be done to end this once and for all. No truth omitted, no 7pt unreadable fonts faxed over, no BS. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on this.

When we originally signed up for leaders, we were told that we would get the qualified rate on ALL transactions. Leaders omitted the truth from the very beginning. We had no idea that so many of our customers were going to fall into their "non qual" rates. Had we known this we would of never signed up with Leaders. We were getting much better rates going through our other processor, so why would we switch? Bait and Switch... Leaders is a dishonest company. They massage their rates to turn a profit on your hard earned money. Now they are saying that we are locked into a 2 year contract with them, and are going to charge us a early termination fee! I find this completely ridiculous concidering that there are about 15 other ripoff reports against LEADERS, and many of them have had this charge removed because they felt lied to and cheated as well!!!! What makes our case any different? I am a small business owner with a brand new family, and Leaders is literally stealing the food out of my newborns mouth. We have gone ahead and filled a report with the Santa Barbara BBB. Hopefully this will get us somewhere. All we want is this terrible company out of our lives, and not have to PAY THEM EVEN MORE than they have stolen to have that happen.

Leaders would like to apologize to this merchant for any misunderstandings he might have had about the contract he signed with leaders. We pride ourselves on full disclosure and have disclosed all fees via his contract and his terms and conditions. This merchant signed his contract stating that he understood all information within the contract and terms and conditions. This merchant states he incurred fees from the use of rewards cards' but in fact the merchant spoke with one of our customer service representatives on 3/4/08 that explained his credit card transactions are falling into his non-qual rate because he was not entering the invoice number when he ran his transactions. This merchant also states there was a hidden annual fee charged to his account. LEADERS discloses all fees on the contract but as a good faith gesture we have already processed a refund on 4/11/08 for the $99 annual fee. LEADERS lowered this merchants rates and adjusted his rate plan on April 1, 2008 to better fit the type of cards he is accepting from his customers. As a courtesy we also offered to re-evaluate the transactions he had already processed and refund him the difference from the new plan. As we have already informed the merchant this refund totaled $145.26 which he should expect to see deposited to his account after April 20th 2008. LEADERS regrets that this merchant feels Stephen Hayner was rude and that the customer service manager was not available to take his call but the notes on his account indicate he was offered the managers voicemail. The fact remains this merchant signed a contract for 2 years with LEADERS and in doing so agreed to all fees within the contract including the Early Termination Fee. If the merchant would like to be rid of LEADERS as his complaint indicates he will need to fax a signed letter to our account closure department @ 818-702-2412 and he will incur the Early Termination Fee if he chooses to close his account before his contract is up.
