Leah Maureen White,"As I stated in the advertisement the car is in Good Condition. My family has a business I would not do you wrong, Sasser Plumbing.  Im starting my own landscape business and I need a truck".

These were the reasons that she was selling the 2004 Ford Focus that I bought for my daughter.  As I climbed in I saw The Bible conveniently located on the back seat in the center for all to see.  I took all this in and developed trust and soon agreed on the purchase amount.

I made it to my house where the car died and would not run.  I took it to my mechanic who is a retired police officer and he also appears as a witness to vehicle fraud cases.  My first step was to try and get my money back or what it would take to get it rolling. She refused and said I was trying to hussle her.

After giving her the name of the mechanic and his finding she became hostile. So my only choice was to move forward in a claim against her.  This takes time and additional monies that I will initially put out but based on what I have read about her I will regain.

I later found out she has been turning cars and working with a local mechanic to take advantage of trusting people like me.

If her business or her families business is run in this similar manner there are more people than I out there suffering from her underminded theiving ways.

So beware of this name and and business affilitated with it.

I hope you have this set so you get updates because the next one will be for an itemized receipt of the work that HAD to be done to be a safe vehicle for her to drive. I take things like this very seriously. I offered you to pay a fraction of what I had to spend so that the car would be safe for my daughter to drive. And in turn i would forgo the report. I called several times only to have you accuse me of making up these mechanical deficiencies. Now your name/reputation will suffer the consequences. Stay tuned, more to follow shortly. I will upload the receipt. There will be proof of your lying deceitful business practices and when your name is Googled it will come out with documents to prove that I was not making up anything. In the future if someone gives you a chance to right a wrong, take it. Now rhis is going to follow you for awhile.

These are Unfair Accusations

First of all, when you (meaning any buyer) purchase anything from Craigslist, you are taking the personal risk of buying something "as is" with absolutely no guarantees or warranties. Secondly, just because a car, especially a used car over 10 years old, has additional problems that one's mechanic finds after the sale that were not brought up during the transaction does not mean that there was intention of fraud. It is unfortunate that the car malfunctioned after the purchase, but that doesn't prove by any means that the seller was trying to scam you. A hostile reaction was most likely brought on by a hostile accusation, but that does not prove that she sold the car with fraudulent intentions. I have not personally had any business dealings with Leah White, but I have known her and her family for a long time. Leah White is an honest individual, and I know for a fact that she does not spend her time turning cars and trying to swindle trusting people. She has bought cars, used them for personal transportation, and later sold them with good intentions and current knowledge of their quality. Her family's business, Sasser's Plumbing, has been my go-to plumbing company for as long as I can remember. This company has always produced effective results with fair prices for me and anyone who I have recommended them to. Although I understand the accuser's frustration and anger at the situtation, I feel that bringing this "ripoff report" to the public is definitely unwarranted and unfair. Furthermore, it is just not right to make accusations against a company, even if they are directly related to the person you are filing a claim against, without any sort of actual knowledge of or experience with their business.

when I read the rebuttal I filed I had typed in that I "sold the car with one-hundred percent honesty" but it did not pick up the symbol hopefully you can tell by the context that I meant to put one-hundred percent honesty..

This lady threatened to make this report, when I checked this site it was not there yet. I googled myself the other night and found that she had bashed me and even brought my parent's business into this because the day she came to buy it I was helping out, answering the phones at their establishment, I do not even work for them. My parents have worked hard and upheld a good reputation in this community for years, I cannot believe you stooped that low, this is between you and I. Long story short, this lady met me to look at the car, test drove the car and did not take it to a mechanic, which I would have gladly let her do. I bought the car for $2800 on Craigslist I put over a $1000 into the car, which I gave her all the receipts for everything that was done to the car. She bought the car for $3000 so I still took a loss on the vehicle. The car had recently been thoroughly inspected and I was told it needed a tune-up which I also told her. Not only had it been worked on by my regular mechanic but I also had all new tires, balance, and rotation performed by Firestone on June 7th (5 months earlier) who mentioned no major problems. She called me a week later with a laundry list of things wrong with the car from snapped engine mounts to bad tie rods, mind you this is the same car she test drove. I had just bought a used truck and used the money she paid me to compensate for my purchase and help fix the items that were wrong with the truck. When I bought the truck I knew there would be things wrong and I did not go back to the seller and threaten him. I fixed them because it was a "used" car and something always needs fixed on a used car... I sold her my car with 0 honesty, I told her about any problems I knew of, and did not try to take advantage of her or rip her off. There is no way that The laundry list of things she claimed to be wrong could've been true, I drove this car everyday! I do not turn cars, the car that I sold her was the only car I have sold in the last 7 years, so I'm not sure where she got this "new twist" from. My family and I are honest people and would never try to take advantage of someone. Anyone that knows us can attest to that. If you are reading this, you can believe what you want, I will continue to keep a good reputation from those that know me and will come to know me because of my actions and character.

"   As I climbed in I saw The Bible conveniently located on the back seat in the center for all to see.  I took all this in and developed trust and soon agreed on the purchase amount."

Neither bibles nor trust have any bearing on a used car purchase.   If you don't have a prospective purchase checked out by your mechanic BEFORE you purchase it, you are shooting yourself in the foot.

" So my only choice was to move forward in a claim against her. "

What sort of claim?   Unless she included a written warranty that you didn't mention, you're out of luck.  Used car sales are considered to be "as is" sales in the absence of a seller's written warranty.

Why is it that everyone lemon buyer that complains on this site has the time and inclination to have their car checked out by their mechanic AFTER they've made a binding agreement.   That's completely backwards.
