Jenjen, I hope you dispute the charge on your credit card before it's too late. And create your own ripoff report to properly document your experience!

I used LegalZoom.com recently to try and get papers drawn up for a divorce I was going through. I answered the three questions or so that was required to determine if they could in fact handle this for me, and I met all requirements. So, after spending nearly an hour filling out all of the forms online AND paying almost $300 for the process, I go back into the website a couple of days later to check my status: INCOMPLETE. I did a little searching and looking, and found out that they didn't even handle divorces for my state. Now, if you don't handle those types of things for a particular state, why do you allow customers to proceed with whatever service they need AND charge them money for the service??? One of the questions I had to answer in order to qualify for services was the state I resided in!!! If they weren't able to handle this for me based on where I lived, then why didn't a message appear informing me of this? I got abosulutely nothing! And on top of that, they withdrew the funds from my checking account still, knowing full well that they were not going to be able to process my request! Luckily, I got my money back (after 2 weeks, mind you), but all of this trouble could have been spared had I known in advance, without having to do Sherlock Holmes-type detective work, that they did not handle divorce papers for my state. It's absolutely ridiculous. My best advice is to deal with someone in person instead of these yahoos.

I'm not trying to excuse this company's carelessness but....3rd largest city in LA county???? I never even heard of Newhall until I read this post. I had to google to find out where it is. Turns out it's just an unincorporated district out by Santa Clarita--WAY out in the sticks! Maybe part of the company's problem is that Newhall doesn't even make the roster of "Cities in LA County." In fact, my browser's spell checker is highlighting Newhall right now.
