Liberty Trust Financial Corporation RIP OFF, SCAM said I was one of 20 to win in a lottery. I decided to look the company up before I called and look what I found. Ottawa Ontario
I received a letter and a check in the mail stating that I was one in 20 to win in a prize pool and that I needed to contact them by phone before the check that was included would be activated. It also stated that I had to call by August 22,2007 or I would forfiet my winnings. The letter included ref#JLT/733569257 and Batch #55246 and was told to use when calling.
I didn't make the call. I kept putting it off for some reason until almost the last minute. On the 21st I decided to look the company name up on Google and it immediatly pulled up all the others that had been scammed.
I am glad I decided to check it out first. There was one thing that did raise a red flag, there was no return address on the envelope. With a check of that size inside surely it would have a return address. Google and my suspicious nature saved me from being scammed.
