I signed up for LICENSE TUTOR thinking it was a sure fire way to pass a real estate exam without having to retake. I purchased the 90 DAY access for $69 or so. The refund policy states that you have to pass all their exams with an 80% or better to qualify for a refund(which I did). I took my exam and failed the state portion, so I called for a refund, figuring it was going to be a "no questions asked" as they stated on website refund. Boy, was I wrong.

I was told that their SYSTEM conveniently showed that I passed all with 86% or better EXCEPT the STATE exam which according to them I only received a 63%. Having delt with people like this before I new that I better cover my own back, so before calling I saved the test results to my computer just in case. I had actually passed the state exam with a 96% on their site. I had passed with a 96% at 8:36AM on 6-18-2008, I took the actual state exam at 1:00PM on 6-18-2008 . They asked me to FAX in proof, (which they didn't think I had) and when I did they were surprised. so I faxed it in , they denied getting the fax, even though I had the confirmation page for the fax. Later I fax the document AGAIN that proved I had 96%. Some representative told me that I wasn't going to get a refund, ao I asked to speak to a supervisor.

TAMMY(the ADMINISTRATOR) got on the phone and stated that they werent going to refund my money. I asked why when I had proof and dates and times. She made the outlandish claim that anyone with "half a brain" can manipulate the document. WELL , I must not have half a brain because I wouldn't even know how to do it. I argued my case to her using TIMES, DATES and FACTS, and all she could respond with were unfounded accusations. SO MUCH FOR "NO QUESTIONS ASKED" GUARANTEE. SHE said they belonged to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (as if that means anything) It doesnt take much to become a member.

I argued with her for about 10 minutes, every time I tried to point out provable facts she was talking over me. It was apparent that it wasn't going to sink into her thick skull so I just hung up on the mindless moron.

It seems to me as if they just use the GUARANTEE to lure people into buying their over-rated service which doesn't hold its weight. Then they count on the fact that people arent likely to complain and those few that do complain they have a million excuses for them as to why they can't refund their money. TAMMY and License tutor are scam artists. I met ALL the GUARANTEE REQUIREMENTS and they refused to refund my money.

TO THIS DAY I can prove that I met all of the requirements. What they offer isn't very good, so they have to get you in with the "refund GUARANTEE" STAY AWAY FROM LICENSE TUTOR.....THEY WILL NOT HONOR GUARANTEES.

If they read this I am sure TAMMY or another one of her drones will respond with more lies and try to discredit me. Bottom line is I have proof, all they have is several people telling the same lie. It doesnt matter if 10,000 people say the same lie, it still doesnt make it true. LICENSE TUTOR is just another company(out of hundreds) that tries to use the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU to gain credibility and rip off consumers like YOU AND I, similar to a wolve wearing a sheepskin. GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE YOU DON'T GET RIPPED OFF BY THIS COMPANY LIKE I DID.

Since I cannot look this person up, I will speak from general experience. I have been here longer than any other employee. I helped develop the programs and guidelines. We are a voluntary member of the Better Business Bureau - which is NOT easy to join (go to bbb.org to find out). You MUST meet their guidelines and they check you - often. We have an "A" rating. We also are a member of their "Online Reliability Program," subscribing to required information that must be disclosed to the online consumer prior to purchase. So how can this be? Not all consumer's "Read the Instructions and Information" (see our policies at http://www.licensetutor.com/general/pricing.asp and at http://www.licensetutor.com/general/passordontpay.asp). All this information is easily accessible prior to purchase, and available on almost every page of the site. The pass or don't pay is available on every page period. License Tutor offers three programs. One 14-day cram program which has NO gaurantee. The other two programs offer a full refund, if you complete ALL 17 exams in the program at 80% or better. Not 15, or 16 exams or what an individual personally feels they need. But ALL 17 EXAMS. The theory being if you take all 17 of our exams over and over till you get 80% on all 17 exams and you still fail your real estate salesperson exam, you better believe we'll give your money back. In 2008, 3600 consumer's used our program. We processed 55 refunds for those that met the requirements and still did not pass their real estate license exam. We denied 49 refunds. 18 of those signed up for the 14-day program, did NOT read the directions and wanted a refund but didn't qualify for a refund as it clearly states it's not gauranteed. 25 Refund denials were due to the fact that the consumer did not pass all 17 exams at 80%. Again, they did not read the instructions. Remaining denials were because the request was filed way after the 30-day period stated in the policy. Again, they didn't read the instructions. We are not a scam, and we keep our word. People who are not accountable for their own actions must find other's to blame for discrepancies in their life. In this case, we are the scape goat. I'm sorry to dissapoint this person once again, but had he read the directions and qualified as instructed, he would have gotten his money back. The testimonies on our site come from real people who have successfully used our program - they read the instructions. We strive on a daily basis to make information clear and easy to find on our site. We are always open to suggestions. For all online consumers, please read the instructions carefully. It's just part of being a good, well informed consumer and getting the most of what you pay for!
