I have been taking my dogs to Lone Oaks for about 4 years now. They have taken excellent care of my dogs. I suggest it to others, very good rates also. I had a emergency I called on a saturday to drop my dogs off on a sunday. And they very quick to call me back, and help me out. I would highly recomend them to anyone.

I just wanted to respond to the original complaint against Lone Oak Kennels. I have been using this Kennel since 11-01 (with absolutely no problems whatsoever) I actually came to this Kennel, after having a HORRIBLE experience with a Kennel in Temperance, Michigan. My dogs have been at Lone Oak for lengths at a time, and never ONCE have I had any health issues with them OR with the owner OR any of the other personnel there. The owner has ALWAYS kept me informed on anything concerning my dogs (i.e. eating habits, bathroom habits or changes(for lack of better terms), attitude/temperment changes, anything found suspicious in bathing, etc. As I certainly don't know the details behind the Waterville peoples' experience, from what I read on the initial filed report.......... 1) their dog had issues "up front, right off the bat" 2) I don't know how long the people had the dog before they boarded him/her, after getting it from the Humane society, but (having done rescue & adoption in the past myself), I DO know once animals do get into a loving home & either get re-adopted, go into a boarding situation or even all day at a groomer......they can be "all wigged out" because they feel "instability" again. 3)I know Karnik is a different set-up than Lone Oak. And in defense of Lone Oak's physical set-up vs. Karnik's set-up......the proximity of quarters, the size of the kennel itself, etc. all could have bearing on "how a dog accepts being boarded" 4) a dog with recent instability and/or already having health issues could be more stressed in a kennel with close quarters vs. one that was huge & wide-open. Maybe the dog just didn't like being away from it's new owners (if it was the first time after being adoped) plus the afore-mentioned differences in kennel sizes. Heck, PEOPLE get "wigged out" being in various sizes environments. 5) Even people can get stressed when their environment is changed. And being stressed causes all sorts of physical ailments. I'm sure veterinarians as well as "people" doctors will attest to that as fact. So, I just wanted to "react" not only in defense of Lone Oak......as I've had 7 years of experience with them. But also, to offer some other potential reasons the Waterville dog reacted the way it did. It MIGHT NOT have been the fault of the kennel afterall. Timing has a lot to do with happenings in life. JFG

To Whom It May Concern, I am a flight attendant for United Air Lines. Because my job takes me away from home days at a time, I have to board my two beloved dogs, Anastasia and Bailey. And, previously I has Ebony, a black lab, who lived to a ripe old age of 15 years. I have been very fortunate to have Cindy and her wonderful staff at Lone Oak Kennels taking care of my dogs when I am at work. I have been taking my dogs to Lone Oak for 10 years. I repeat..10years.... not only for boarding but for grooming as well. In all those years my dogs have been treated with professionalism. When Ebony became a "senior citizen", Cindy and her staff always made sure Ebony had extra blanket or two in her kennel to keep her warm and comfortable. And she received an extra dose of tender loving care as old dogs need more attention. No detail went unnoticed. If I accidently left their expensive Invisible Fence collars on, the girls would tak ethem off and safely put away until I returned. But the biggest compliment to Cindy Wahl and her staff comes from my dogs. Whenever we pull into the driveway of Lone Oak Kennels, Anastasia and Bailey become very excited- tails wagging. They are coming to "Home Away From Home." Thank You, Patty

I am a customer of Lone Oak Kennels and have been for a few years now. I just want everyone to know that I am very pleased with their services and the care that they have given my pets over the years. I would gladly recommend their facility over any of the others in the area. Thank You, Mrs. E

August 27, 2008 We at Lone Oak Kennels do apology to Mr. and Mrs. Mintz. But we do feel that the allergic reaction that Forrest did suffer from was unpredictable and was not conclusively caused from his stay with us. We have been in business almost 20 years and never once have had this type of situation happen here. Mrs. Mintz has boarded her other animals with us before and did choose to return to our establishment. She did choose to walk Forrest back to the kennel run which he would be staying in during his time of stay. At any point if she thought we were unsanitary, she could have chose to walk out and not boarded with us. We fed Forrest 2 to 2 cups of dry food twice a day. We were only informed if he does not eat to add moist to his dry and to call her immediately. Forrest never had a problem with eating or any other symptoms. He was able to go for a couple of walks and go outside to the bathroom but due to extreme heat at the time of his stay we chose to not walk him the last day, in fear of heat stroke or stress to the dog. During his stay here we never noticed any sores on Forrest until Wednesday, his day of departure. If we would have noticed sores or any other issues, our policy is contact owner then vet if necessary. If vet care is necessary our contract clearly states that the owner is responsible for all cost occurred with vet during or after stay with us. This matter has been turned over to our legal team of lawyers and will be properly handled through them. Thank You, Lone Oak Kennels
