My complaint is against Lutheran Services for negligence toward my family with regards to the case plan set forth for my daugher.

I filed a complaint with the Inspector General with regards to Lutheran Services and a false statement that was provided in dependency court about me, a statement that is defined as defamation of character.   As stated my complaint was for a false statement made by the caseworker, Jerina Jackson of Lutheran Services.  This defamation of character stated in a public court room reflects very negatively on me and could not go unreported.  Lutheran Services was not interested in the facts, or in how upset and emotionally distraught I was over it and the harm that it had caused me and my family.

I have possession of the court document stating that the Department, represented by Lutheran Services, would look into the maternal grandmother to determine whether she would benefit from classes regarding substance abuse. Lutheran Services  justified statement was OK, they were not asking me to be evaluated for drug use or random drug testing.   Again, Lutheran Services does not have any validation of this statement and most certainly did not investigate prior to making that statement in a court of law.

I would think it prudent that any information provided in a legal setting would be evaluated for accuracy. Lutheran Servies repeatedly tried to goad me into a defensive side of an argument.  It is without doubt that I am frustrated, angry and disappointed Lutheran Services would allow an employee to make a false statement.  The caseworker who stated the defamation of character is unprofessional and her work ethic is to be questioned.

At the second court hearing on April 17, 2017 there was an opportunity for Lutheran services to recant that statement. I had a conversation outside the courtroom with the caseworker, Jerina Jackson.    I expressed my concern about the statement and Ms. Jackson used the rationalization that it wasn't exactly what she said.   Ms. Jackson does not accept accountability for her behavior or action in the court room.  I have a copy of the court document, and I am more than willing to get a copy of the entire transcript.

Lutheran Services handles my daughter's case and have been unprofessional, biased, unethical and created a bully mentality and environment for my daughter.  Lutheran Services has allowed the caseworker to manipulate and mismanage the case.  She has gone so far as to allow the father, who is in contempt of court to continue his threatening behavior.

Lutheran Services is concerned about the welfare of the children, then they should be doing what's best for the children.   This would require an unbiased professional caseworker to intervene on behalf of the children.   I have been along for this horrible experience.  Lutheran Services has not done what's best for my grandchildren. They have failed them by not enforcing the case plan, the parenting plan, staffing or whatever it is called, by allowing bias or unprofessionalism to guide the situation.

In December the case worker, Jerina Jackson of Lutheran Services was to have performed a home study, fingerprinting etc.  so that my daughter can indeed have overnight visits with her children.   As to date, this has not been completed.

My daughter and grandchildren have been indeed hurt by this statement of deformation of character.   On April 17, 2017, (((REDACTED)), my daughter, was once again denied overnight visits because these visits will be done in my home and there was concern about the maternal grandmother and her substance-abuse. The judge was unwilling to compromise due to this statement and believes there must be validity since it was in the prior court transcript.

The children deserve to have both parents who love them dearly, actively involved in their lives. Lutheran Services has hindered that opportunity for them. The lack of follow through by the caseworker at Lutheran Services has emotionally affected the children who want to spend time with her mom.  I am not making any excuses for my daughter, she made a mistake. She has been cruelly held accountable for that mistake.  Amber has also walked the line with 100% compliance.   Her dedication to recovery, healing, accountability, and parenting has been undeniably her priority.  She deserves to be reunited with her children as set forth in the plan by Lutheran Services signed off by both herself, the children's father,  Wiley Fanning, Judge Todd and Lutheran Services.

We all should be held accountable for actions. My daughter has overcome the situation and deserves to hold her head high with her accomplishments. Lutheran Services has not held themselves accountable; they have been unprofessional, biased and negligent.
