On 2/06/06 the Volvo was brought in for repair. When I arrived on 2/9/06 to retrieve the vehicle, Rick was not present.

The office assistant asked me to come into the office to signed for the car. I paid her in cash and she handled the car key back to me.

When I looked at the key, it was not the Master-Key that used to open all the doors and the trunk. When I pressed her for answer, she called Rick who was somewhere in the back.

Rick stated that he had lost the Master-Key when he took the key home with him. He claimed as a result, he had to get the Dealer to cut another key.

I proceeded to use the key enter the car but I was unable to. I had to use the passenger's side. As I entered the car, I discovered that the driver's side door panel was completely destroyed. I was able to lock the door.

Rick assured me that he was not aware of the damages caused by his staff. He stated that I should not worry and he was going to order the parts from Volvo right away. He further stated that he was go into call me as soon as the parts come in from the dealer.

RE: #23049617 - Maaco Auto Painting & Bodywork Center

Dear Jean:

Thank you for contacting the Better Business Bureau concerning the dispute you are having with the above named company. We have forwarded your complaint to the company for their comments and/or action. You will be informed of the outcome of this matter. However, we must advise you that the prognosis for a favorable resolution of your issue is not good. This company has already "earned" an "unsatisfactory" business reliability report with the BBB. It is, therefore, doubtful that they will respond to us, or to you, concerning this matter. Nevertheless, we will make our best effort to help mediate a solution.

The Better Business Bureau receives more than 600 requests for assistance daily. Most are from persons requesting pre-purchase information about companies they are considering doing business with. While we do not recommend or endorse any product, service, or company, a "satisfactory" BBB report means, at least, that the company has not ignored complaints. Moreover, some of our member companies have pledged to mediate or arbitrate any consumer complaints brought to their attention.

Please remember to use our services before doing business with any company in Southeast Florida and the Caribbean. If the company is outside of our service area, check the BBB national website at www.bbb.org. In the meantime, if you do hear from this company, please let us know.

Sincerely

Kristina George

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
