MACCO BODY SHOP in Clive has got to be in my top 3 of 10 worst businesses I have ever tried to do business with. I made an appointment last Saturday to drop my car off with them so they could give me an estimate on the bodywork I want done, and replace the pins in my hinges. I was supposed to pick it up this Saturday. The lady said "don't worry about it, just leave your car here for the week and you can pick it up next Saturday".

I called 6 times since Thursday to confirm the pick up date, never got a call back, someone answered once and put me on hold for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes I figure a business is really busy and I'll have to call back. Never could talk to anyone so I showed up today, Saturday 31 Aug., only to discover they were closed. No work was done to my car, and I don't even care if they did the estimate because they will never see another dime from me. Oh; and they put 3 fresh chips in my wind shield.

IT'S NOW BEEN A MONTH AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT CALLED TO TELL ME THAT MY CAR IS MISSING OUT OF THERE LOT. SERIOUSLY, DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE.

First of all the chips in the windsheild could have been written on a piece of paper at any time, even after reading my review. I assure everyone they were fresh. THE MONEY IT WILL COST ME TO REPAIR IT IS THE RIP OFF.

2nd. Yes I did know that the body work would take time. I was assured how-ever that the pins in the door hinges, which everyone knows is not a rare or hard part to get, would be done by Saterday and i could pick my car up that day.

3rd. I never got a phone call letting me know a mistake was made and that they would not be open. I tried to fix there mistake but no-one would talk to me when i called or call me back. instead I had to drive 40 miles to find out they were not there and now work had been done.

4TH. HOW ABOUT WHEN MY CAR CAME UP MISSING OFF OF THE LOT. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. YES I TOOK IT SO I KNEW WHERE IT WAS BUT R YOU KIDDING ME WITH THESE LAME EXCUSES.

THE OTHER OTHER RIP OFF IS THE ABSOLUTE NON-EXISTANT COSTUMER SERVICE.

As a businees with a 97% customer return rate we become very busy during peak season, our customers understand that when state that we are 2 weeks out, we cannot start a vehicle repair within a week. All of the cars get a EC report on the condition prior to being worked on. the chips in the windshield were in the "existing condition" report. The customer was also told that it wasnt going to be a "quick turn around" like many late model vehicles due to the rarity and age of the vehicle and the difficulty to find parts. customer understood that also. We resetore/ repair many old/rare vehicles with both partys having the understanding that these cars cant be repaired overnight. The customer was not charged a dime for any repairs, therefor there cannot be a "rip off report" with no money beeing charged. We do apologize for being busy and not being able to get to everyone right away on the phone. we are a family owned business and have been in business for 38 years, we apoligize for not being at our shop after hours, but our staff likes to spend as much time on weekends with their families as possible and therefore we are only open from 9-12 saturdays, those hours are clearly stated on ours doors, websites, etc.
