$1481.80 pissed away by a dishonest estimator, untrained workers and extremely rude and unprofessional Manager, I should have read thier motto as a warning "THE BUCK STOPS HERE".

I have a 1972 Dodge Dart that my grandmother ordered from the factory and gave to me a couple years ago when she decided to stop driving. THIS WAS A LABOR OF LOVE.

I took it to Maaco and the estimator Billy and I walked around the car and I pointed out all "ALL" of the problems and gave him clearly my expectations we went inside and on top of the body work I bought the best paint and prep package, didnt want to cut corners.

Picked up the car and only maybe 5% of the body work was even touched, and the stuff they touched they screwed up bad. They did no feathering, the bondo was wavy and pitted, they finish sanded with what looks like 80 grit paper you can see the scratches through the paint.

They didnt paint the car completely, it looks like the guy was to lazy to bend down the bottom 5 or 6 inches were barely touched.

Both front fenders had a crease on them, now they have several dozen small hammer marks and was never smoothed out, looked like a child did it. They dings and dents are all still there on the doors and quarters, and I have new dings on the front fenders.

The paint itself is running and has orange peel all the way through. There is garbage in the paint, dust hair etc.. $1481.80 tossed down the toilet.

When I tried to take it up with the manager he dodged me when I was there in person, refused my phone calls and when I finally got him on the phone he was extremely rude and threatning, accused me of trying to pull something, refused to look at the car or even discuse it then slammed the phone down on me.

I will be seeing him in court, anyone with a like expeariance please contact me via e-mail [email protected], before you take your car there let me know and I will show you mine before you toss your money away. It will take me a few more years to save the money to have this mess fixed by a professional.

In all of my life this has been the absolute worst consumer expearince I have ever had.

You made the right decision the only way to handle this.

Going to Small Claims Court is Bring the car with you, and lots of pics as well as the original contract. Next time, do not use Maaco. They really suck for the most part. I restore classic cars for a hobby, and I have used Maaco here in Jacksonville for a couple of the cars, but I had to strip off all the chrome and trim before taking it to them. Plus, they required very minimal body work. I had a good sprayer, so I was very happy with the results. I do know people that have taken classic cars to them and have had a TERRIBLE job done, much like yours. The trick to a quality paint job is to take it to a little place, no franchises, stay away from Earl Schibe, Maaco, Fact-o-Bake, etc. Find some 70 year old guy that knows these cars, and cut a deal with him for a quality paint job. Chances are, it will be for less than what you spent with Maaco. Good Luck
