Actually except for a few times, I've successfully used MagicJack phone for long distance VOIP calls.  The problem has always been with advertising and then billing.  Initially the advertising said I could get this for $19.95/year.  They don't tell you at the time, that you have to pay therm $40 for the modem...still cheap by Verizon and Clearwire (CLEAR) standards.

Once all is in place, and you've had this working for a while you get notice to sign up for more years at $19.95.  Recently the dial screen asks you to add another year at a special 2011 price before the markup of $29.95 (an increase of 33%) starting January 20, 2012.

If you click on the big button it brings up a screen on Internet Explorer that doesn't allow you to put in your full password.  Connecting to customer service in chat to let them know that you can't log in, they don't understand what you are talking about...obviously never trained to do such a thing themselves.

Back in the dial screen I find another way to add a year's service (supposedly at the special price) and a screen arrives from the Internet, asking for log in again.  Once entered and clicked, the screen says you are not online, or the server is down.  If I was off line I would not have gotten any of their screens, if the server is down, why can I make calls...but not update my billing?

IT IS Really frustrating and I'm tired of getting others to fix things that they should already know about...why I left Comcast, Qwest, Clearwire.  Will there be anyone left to operate the Internet Services?
