A clean-cut young lady came to my door trying to raise money for her softball team to go to Hawaii for a tournament. Could I help her? If I would buy a magazine subscription for a person in the military, the high school would receive 90% of the proceeds. She presented me with a modest list of military personnel with APO addresses...I'm a sucker for the military.
She said she lived a block away...her father retired from the Air Force..what's not to trust? Feeling uneasy about the transaction, I called the high school in the morning..they checked...NO team raising money to go to Hawaii.
