This was the most bizarre, jaw-dropping experience I have ever encountered as a Medical Administrator professional for over 9 years. I've been a member at Telos Fitness Center in Dallas for nearly 8 years and the Larry North Fitness Center on Royal & Preston for 3 years. I have experienced many instances of massage therapy.

An absolute insane and looney experience at Massage Envy at Prestonwood Town Center on Beltline in Dallas, Texas.
I booked on the internet earlier in the day a 2 hour massage appointment. First Time Visit.

I was met and greeted by a really nice young lady who spent about 15 minutes with me when I presented, much to her delight, several of our new bestseller books on Menopause now selling on Amazon, Apple, Kindle, Google,
Nook and Barnes & Noble. After I finished my check-in paperwork, I went in for the massage where, the therapist, Niki, a young black woman, acknowledged a 2 hour appointment, left the room briefly and came back and performed a one
hour massage on me while on my stomach, then left the room after 1 hour and muttered something about me getting dressed and meeting her in the hallway.
Huh?

I got dressed and when I inquired where she had disappeared to, and all employees directed me to the checkout area and subsequently to the Manager, Rachel Hill. When I inquired where my therapist had gone that somehow she misunderstood that this was a 2 hour massage not 1 hour, I was met with silence...then after some time went by I asked for several book gifts I had given to the business be returned...in a short interim I was brought the 3 books I had presented to them. I also asked for the return of all of my Hippa check-in paperwork. I deal with this sort of thing professionally.

One of the employees returned with several paperwork documents I had prepared prior to the massage. I was refused the original check-in paperwork. They did return some of the documents but then refused all of my original check-in paperwork. I telephoned our company attorney about this refusal.

THEN,  I was asked to leave and the Manager Rachel Hill disappeared, spoke with her owner (maybe) and then came back and said that she had called 911. I stayed around at this absurd treatment in the parking lot. The police arrived in about 20 minutes and I could get nothing out of them except that I had been asked to leave and after visiting with one officer, another policeman came out of the business and told me that it would be criminal trespass if I returned and it was Massage Envy's
right to bar me from their premises - like "we have the right to refuse service to anyone" sort of deal.  I made a tape recording with my iPhone of everything.

I don't think I can recall another experience in my life quite like this. My strong advice would be for anyone interested in any massage work to seek out another entity than this one. As an administrator of a first-class medical entity in Irving, Texas - I would strongly advise anyone to AVOID this franchise. I am still shocked at this experience and called and cancelled my current credit card and asked that a new number be issued to avoid any possibility that this chain would attempt to bill my credit card (used to guarantee the initial appointment).

Former employee given the same treatment after this company had embezzled money from employee!

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wed, December 12, 2012

I'm filing this on behalf of my wife whom wishes to remain anonymous in this!

About 9 Months ago while she was working for Massage Envy of Texas. She had to reinstate her liability insurance. She had reinstated with the same company because according to her district manager she was ok by doing so! A few days after she had the had ok she was told that she had the wrong insurance and told that she would have to go through another carrier. After she instructed that she had already paid for the insurance the district manager explained that she would re-imburse her for the issue! During that evening I wrote her regional manager on facebook and asked what the deal was and why were they treating her this way?

The next day they contacted my wife and told her it was all her fault that she did not have the proper insurance, and that she had the weekend to obtain the proper insurance or she would be placed on a leave of absence, unpaid! She had been bullied around by this company over and over until they finally just decided to get rid of her about three weeks ago!

The manager is a bully I was never contacted back until today 12/12/12 and his response to everything is that he would call the local authorities if I attempted to call him back or go over to talk about this situation! This man is the very deffinition of the word bully and instead of dealing with me he would rather pass me off! This is a very bad business practice and it makes me wonder whom else is this occuring to. I placed this in this ripoff report because it is very similar to the above incident and I feel it needs to be brought in to the light! This company practices embezzlement very well especially with their employees! they need to lock these people up and throw away the key!
