Sorry, but no lender would ever be able to evaulate your creditworthiness without pulling credit. Whether you knew your scores or not is immaterial; no competent underwriter would accept the applicant's self-reported scores. Your loan officer told you he could help because he stands no chance of making a commission if he turns you away. In addition, federal law (ECOA) discourages lenders from turning away "marginal" applicants. I wish you luck in getting financing, but you can't expect any lender to play by your rules.

They should not pull anyone's credit report unless they are absolutely sure they can help. Everytime a persons credit report is pulled it damages their credit score by at least 12 points.
