I went to get our car inspection Last Thursday at McCaffery and had wait over two hours till the woman named Kimberly came to me and told me how much this would cost and was told that this will cost $2800 ( $1000 worth of parts) and it kind of shock me but what I don't understand is that our car inspected last year at that same place and passed with flying color. That car had over 4000 miles since the last inspection. The car is well maintainced with over 200,000 miles and is not burning oil and now they tell me that's the car need new motor mount, valve cover gasket, two lower arm, and linkage bar. I check the website for parts and learn that this only cost close to $300 yet the $1800 labor cost really hit me deep in the wallet. I had my benefit of the doubt and is going to get a second opimiom. Be Beware of this price gouging racket.

I am Not going to Guess if you are getting scammed.

Dealers are 2 too 3 times as expensive on parts, usually because they are using OEM parts (original Manufacturer)

2 nd Online parts are generally at "Jobber Pricing" and that is what repair shops buy at and then markup when they sell to you.

All the parts you describe are "Sitting Around" Failures The valve cover gasket may fail sooner on low mileage use cars, The suspension parts listed have rubber parts that deteriorate just because they are out in the open air. Legit failures happen to these parts whan they get old, not from the number of miles.

Dealer Labour tends to be %50 higher than other shops because you are dealing with a Tech specifically trained to work on your car, a specialist instead of a General Mechanic.

Many older cars do NOT benifit from Visiting the dealer. But many customers feel that a dealer can make repairs to their car more reliably and thus the car is more reliable. They may be right, as long as it is a good dealer
