Meineke Took my Kia RIO to Meineke for a brake job; Brakes failed!! They wanted to replace master cyclinder. took it to another garage. All it need was; brakes need bleed Vancouver, Washington
Took my 2002 Kia Rio to Meineke Car Care Center at 15510 E Mill Pain Blvd Vancouver Wa 98684 on August 17 2009 for a Brake job. They said they replaced the pads and Rotors and flush the brakes. I took my car out of shop and Brakes started to smoke and failed. I called the shop and Tom Coates, manager, told me to bring it back in to have it checked. I stated it wasn't safe to drive, as the brakes were smoking and down to the floor. Too bad for me; I had get it in myself. They wouldn't come and get it. As I only live 6 blocks from shop, got my son to drive it back using hand brake as a brake.
It set in their shop two days till August 20, 2009, when finally I called and asked when it would be repaired. Was told that it need a master cylinder and it wouldn't be fixed till next week. I was very upset and called and talked to several people who advised me to get a second opinion; I called Les Schwab tires and told them what had happen and they stated to bring it in right away. Again my son used a hand brake to get to Les Schwab shop( near our house); he had a lot of trouble, the car was pulling sideways when he stopped it for lights. Having no foot brakes, endangered his life and others in traffic.
Les Schwab check it out and wrote that"that it doesn't need a master cyl, other shop did front brakes and brake pedal now goes to the floor. The other shop told customer that a new master cylinder needed-all it needed was a flush and bleed job"
My Kia Rio works fine now. No thanks to MEINKE who didn't do the job right and charged me for work they didn't do. They endangered my life, sons and other people. Also Meineke tried to get me to have more work done, which wasn't needed. THEY tried to scram me -and Meineke owes me a refund on the work they didn't do. Mary
