The cancellation policy is clearly stated on the first page in the bottom right hand corner along with the proper date and address. You may use your telephone number as well as your customer I.D. The cancellation date is by the 25th of the month.

MLM's have such a wonderful excuse for any underhanded dealings: blame it on the "independent" rep who enrolled you. So who trained that rep? Strange how so many "independent" reps all around the country are all omitting the same vital information about the company's policies and procedures.
I don't really blame our friend who enrolled us. She was sold a bill of goods by the person two levels upline from her, was not trained to any extent, and really did not understand what was going on. He, on the other hand, was a first-class scoundrel who made a bunch of promises to her, then didn't follow through.
But, again, who trained him? And why is there such a consistency to the reports on this site as to the tactics of these "independent" reps?

I don't believe Melaleuca has any tricks up their sleeves for not honoring written cancellations. Melaleuca is a BBB Accredited member with an A+ rating. However with over 500,000 independent reps, they are bound to have the occasional misrepresentation or omission. Your en-roller should have disclosed the written cancellation policy, the minimum 35/75 point requirement, and the back up order requirement.

Telling you that you can fax in your request to close your account is not true, and has been used by Melaleuca to keep accounts open. The fine print on the member agreement states that Melaleuca will only accept an original signature, and they interpret that to mean that a faxed signature is not original. Send your request by postal mail, and do spend the extra money to have it sent as certified mail, signature requested. Another of Melaleuca's dodges is to claim that the letter requesting account closing was never received.
Our family had a Melaleuca membership for a short while, and we were fortunate enough to have read this site and learned about the difficulty in getting an account closed. Having been forewarned, we used a request by certified mail (which probably tipped them off that we were wise to their tricks), and had our account canceled without any problems. I will say that we liked some of Melaleuca's products, and would buy them again if we could do so without having to have a membership.

It is very easy to cancel as long as you do it by the 25th of the month.
You simply type up a sentence that I want to cancel my account along with your name and your phone number, fax it into to their toll free number and you are canceled.
It is really easy. It also says in the bottom right hand corner that you can cancel the agreement for any reason at any time by giving written notice to Melaleuca bearing your signature. This is a good company, with good products helping many people with better products than the garbage that you buy at the grocery store that poisons kids, pets and ruins the earth.
