DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE….YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED….A 76 year old lady, my mother takes her Mercedes Benz C class into Walters Mercedes Benz in Riverside California for a regular service. Mainly oil change, top off fluids and so on. When she gets the car back it was around the end of July. As usual she drives to the doctor and to the store by her house, about 5,000 miles a year, if that. In August, about the first week it rained for 1 small second, as you know California has been in a drout for about 7 years, we forgot what rain is. But the 1 day it rained she went to use the windshield wipers, they wouldn't work. I checked them out and the fuses. Nope, nothing. So we took her car to Walters Mercedes, they took 3 hours then said sorry it's not fixed but your car is ready and it'll be $709 to fix it. Fix what?....

I said this is not fair, my mother just bought the car about 1.5 years ago from your used car department. It should not be going out this fast or at all, is this a re call situation? Because the car only has like 50 or 55000 miles. Is Mercedes Benz just building less superior cars? The man said sorry but it's $709 to fix it.

We left, we contacted Mercedes Benz US and Vanessa seemed like she was going to help, but after a week she said they will only cove 205 of the cost. I told her this is unacceptable, the car is about 55,00 miles, the wipers have been used 2 or maybe 3 times at the most by mom, it is California and no rain comes here. She said she would talk to walters and get back to me since it was their used car from another lot of theirs, FIAT, that is SHUT DOWN now!!!

Anyhow, Vanessa called me back on 8/24/2017 at 9:55 AM, she was no help, just argued and said she has the power to help but wont, I said give me your superior, name, number and email./ She refused. Finally she said Richard Major is my boss but I wont give you anything else. I had pain in my chest at this point from the stress , anxiety and the high blood pressure caused by this conversation. I told her it is obvious you wont help or stand behind your product. I will contact my lawyer, social media and get you exposed. She said go ahead.... So I hung up on her.

Mercedes Benz nor Walter's Mercedes have taken any action to fix this car! A Faulty windshield wiper, the car in under 55,000 miles. And it is defective already. Wow... (Elder Abuse Laws) have definitely been broken here...Seems like a SAFETY HAZARD and ELDERLY ABUSE is being practiced by Mercedes Benz and Walters Mercedes...

While you tried VERY hard to gain sympathy for your situation and tried very hard to make this dealer out to be just above the devil, unfortunatly you failed big time.

You convieniently left off the year of your mom's car but based on the miles you reported your mom drives and the miles on the car now we can figure it is a 6-7 year old car(at least).

You try to bring in how bad the drought was in CA and that it rained for "1 small second". Really? An entire second? That taken in conjunction with that she has used her wipers 2 or 3 times in 5 years really just makes people laugh. As I guess you already forgot about the RECORD rainfall over last winter, and yes even during the drought we would get rain a few times a year(just not a lot).

But then you finally get them to agree to cover $200 bringing the cost down to about $500 and what do you do? You go screaming on the Internet "Elder Abuse".  If they came back and withdrew that offer because of this they would have every right.

So here is some information for you. Sometimes parts fail and is it normal for what is probably a Wiper Motor/Switch to fail..probably not.  Is it something that could happen...yes.  Is this some huge "Elder Abuse" scandal...NO. In fact the only Elder Abuse that may be going on here is if you are dragging your poor mom into the middle of this.

This is one of those "You got a Luxury car" items where even things down to the simple oil change will cost significantly more than other vehicles.  I don't think there isn't a single manufacturer who would cover this as standard process.  Now, if you continue to complain and be a real B***h about it they may and if they do..congratulations. If not this is NOT a RipOff.

If you talk about safety and decide to get it repaired want it done cheaper..find an Independnet Shop.  Just better read those reviews to make sure it isn't "too cheap" and end up costing you more in the long run.
