Don't be fooled by the site the  company claims to be a company  from Spain, LIES; I was there when the company opened its doors in Nov. 2011.  Metropolitan LifeWorks, Inc. is another Cydcor scam satellite  office that leached from the most infamous of Cydcor scammers, Jimmy Brock's "Rock Executives". And it's "president" if you can even call him that, Derek Fisher, is pure scum. He is a user who will trick you into working for him and gladly watch as you fall into poverty, all the while claiming to be your friend. The worst part is once he has used you to the fullest extend and foresees no future sales from you, he'll fire you.  I will break down how Cydcor offices work. Derek and Jimmys offices sell T-mobile, the office gets $120 for every sale, of that the selling rep gets $70 which means the office makes $50. Now you'd be lucky to sell one phone a day. If they have 20 reps working for them, at one phone a day the office makes $5,000 a day, while the rep is making $350 a week, if that. If you have gone to their second round "interview" or if you work for them ask your self this, "What's with the morning meeting?" Is it even nessacary to come into the office everyday?" And the answer is YES, so the "managers" can re-sell the business to you. If they don't you might wise up and find a better job. I should know, I gave them a year before I realized the truth. Don't be fooled like me and so many others before me!

I am very entertained that he's trying to skew this post into a rant of a disgruntled ex-employee; but I am far from it, in fact I'm grateful to him and James Brock. Because of these two I can recognize a user and a scam from a mile away. I have proof of my own to dispute what he says. He can't keep his lies straight, ask yourself this "If MLW has exsisted since 2008 what excatly ws he doing in Chicago in 2011. I am willing to post a copy of my W2 in which a month shy of a year I only made $15,000 before taxes despite the fact that when Derek interviewed me he claimed the office average was $500-$700 a week. And as for my exit from the company, I indeed was fired; but I was fired for complaining about not making enough money and having to lie to people. Then rehired a day later because I thought there was nothing better out here; then I wised up and quick 3 weeks later after James unknowingly exposed the truth.  But to those thinking of applying to this job ignore this whole post, my rebuttal and his. Instead do what I didn't do and google Cydcor and make your decision from there.

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, February 20, 2012

My name is Derek Fisher and I own Metropolitan LifeWorks, Inc.  I struggled for almost a month here as to the wisdom of responding to this post or not, and I guess I am left with no choice but to address what is being said about me and my company.

This complaint was issued by a former employee I worked with in Chicago.  I believe this to be true because I know the screenname hunterzero very well.  He/she did not work for me, and he/she was never associated with Metropolitan LifeWorks in any capacity whatsoever.  We did terminate this individual in Chicago but also gave this person a second chance to work on another campaign, and I believe that he/she stopped working on that one around the time this post went up.

People can feel frustrated, can feel mislead, can feel like they were taken advantange of.  That is everyone's individual right.  I believe that at times we have not been able to properly communicate the challenges and obstacles that we will face to become truly great in our industry.  What I wish people would realize they cannot do is to go on a smear mission and actually fabricate lies that can be proven to be incorrect.

Metropolitan LifeWorks started in Barcelona, Spain in the summer of 2008.  I will be more than happy to send any disbelievers business cards, powerpoints, and client invoices attesting to this fact.  I can also provide the names of former employees that will attest to their association with MLW at this point in time.

This individual posted in Chicago about a Houston based company because they have not been to Houston.  The last conversation I had with this person, I did state to them that I would not pay for the relocation of that individual like I had the other associates who moved with me, but that if he/she could come down on their own accord, they had a job waiting for them if/when that would occur.

I have never, ever been called scum before.  I cannot disprove this fact, because this is an opinion based sentiment, but it is also the one thing that has effected me the most.  I work tirelessly to try and improve the company and industry we work in.  We devote ourselves to a constant and endless pursuit of excellence.  Clearly I have failed if someone feels inspired enough to say what they have said in this post.  I shoulder that responsibility squarely on my shoulders.  I have spent an entire month thinking about how I could have helped this individual better so that such a post will never, ever happen again.

A scam is where there is an intention to deceive for personal gain, monetary or otherwise.     The only thing I have ever guaranteed my employees is that I will work tirelessly to make sure they walk away a better person for being in this company, whether it is only one day, one week, one month, one year, or more.  But I am not here to try and dissuade you of the perceptions of one person.  If this viewpoint is sufficient to have someone decide to pursue employment with other organizations, that is definitively their perogative.

All I seek to accomplish with this post is to communicate that I am aware that things are being said about this organization and that for the benefit of the other employees who work tirelessly, honestly, and have enormous commitment to our company, they deserve to be defended.  There are always more than one side or perspective, and I believe that if you allow us to show you how we have learned from this experience, you will find us a valuable and resourceful place you can proudly be associated with.

Lastly, to hunterzero, I do not understand your motivation behind this post, I do not understand your intention to deliberately hurt a company that has never effected you.  But I do wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavours and hope that you find success with whatever you decide to pursue.  I apologize for not being there for you in a manner that would have prevented this from happening.

If anyone has any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 832-767-5940 and I will be more than happy to discuss with you in greater depth our company, what we do, and if there is a potential fit.  Thank you for your time and attention.

Regards,

Derek Fisher
