Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was planning my wedding, i called mid atlantic dj association and spoke with the owner curtis who was very smooth and sly, he informed me that i would recieve $100.00 dollars off for booking in the month of June. he also told me that the total for the package i was interested in was $650.00 for the total and that the deposit was $150.00 and was non refundable. i thought it over and called the next day to reserve the date and give them the $150.00 deposit. i was told by curtis when i spoke to him that he was going to mail me a contract to review.

when i called to book the date, i spoke with christine Lemke, i went over the details of the package i was interested in and gave her the credit card number so that she could charge me for the $150.00 deposit, i had to call her back with the three digit number on the back of the card, she had plenty of time to go over the contract with me over the phone as did mr. curtis but neither did so. i spoke to christine late in the afternoon that day and when i called her back to ask if it went through she said yes but did no tell me that she had actually charged me for the entire $650.00!

after feeling very uneasy about my decision i called Chrisitne the next morning, less than 24 hours later and told her that i had decided not to use their services because the wedding was becoming very expensive and my fiance and i decided to do something different, she said that she understood and that she would clear it up on their calander, than i asked how much she had charged and she said the full amount of $650.00 i then told ms. Lemke that i understand if they have to keep the $150.00, but to please return the remaining $500.00 to the credit card being that i never saw nor signed any contract with them and that they could not loose any business being that i cancelled so quickly. Christine told me that that was fine and that she would take care of it. she also said that she would have curtis call me the next which he never did .

i recieved a contract from them in the mail a week and a half later...the contract was bogus i woould have never signed it it did not state which service i had wanted or anything protecting the customer it was protecting the $650.00 and did not say anything about a $150.00 deposit it was completely tailored so that they could keep my families money...i never signed the contract i believed that christine lemke was an honest professional which was not true, we recieved the credit card bill almost thirty days later with the entire amount still on the card.

i called christine who said she had to talk it over with her boss, she called me back the next day with a messege and when i called her back she said that legally they could keep the entire amount because that is what they chrged to the card, i never gave permission to put that much on the card to begin with so if they would have only charged $150.00 than we would have only lost $150.00 she said yes!!!!! this was their sneaky way to take my families money. i am disgusted with the way that Mid Atlantic Professional DJ Association handles what they think is a good business, both Christine and Curtis lied to me and my fiance and they still think that they are going to keep the money with no services rendered nor a contract signed. when i explained to christine that we took action through the credit card she said "if your card is insured and you get the money back anyway what is the problem?" how is that for good customer service and honesty?!

This Is Not Our Client...

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, September 07, 2016

It has come to my attention that there is a false complaint about my business, The Mid Atlantic Professional DJ Association.  A search of our records does not reveal a contract with anyone, in our 30 year history, with the name “Aimee”, as signed by the supposed client, in the complaint.

I would challenge the complaintant to provide any supporting forms to suggest that we’ve done business with or had the intention of doing business with this person.

As the owner of this company, I’ve taken pride in a clean track record of doing business.  We have an A+ rating with The BBB and zero complaints on file.  We do business honestly and ethically.  You don’t get to 30 years in this business without having the right intentions at heart.

I believe that this person is either mistaken, has been ripped off by someone else or is a competitor attempting to tarnish our company’s reputation.  In this day and age of social media and consumer confidence, word travels fast… good & bad.  We have taken steps to gain consumer confidence and this complaint, is erroneous and false.  We’d like our public reputation to accurately reflect our committment and excellence in our field.

Please feel free to do a search for our company... The Mid Atlantic Professional DJ Association or MAPDJA.  Whether it's The Better Business Bureau or any other online resource, you'll see that our reputation, over our 30 year history, is one that we acan be extremely proud of.
