To the person who responded and asked if we had proof in hand that this debt had been paid in full? Yes ma'am we do we have a letter from the law firm that we paid it to stating that it is paid in full. And yes we were being sued for this amount because it was a high bill and we had some trouble paying it in full at the time (if that is anyone's business). I did send a report to the BBB and they sent me back a letter saying that this matter needed to be taken up with the company because they couldn't help me. I will not pay them no matter what the amount that they ask for even if it goes down to $5.00.

Patty this company is beyond reprehensible! Do you have the proof in hand that you paid this debt? Copy of the check or money order the original bill from the lawyer (which sounds kinda funny to me) Why did a lawyer have this to begin with? Were you being sued for this amount? Somehow or another I get the feeling (and by the way its against the law) that Midland is pulling up credit reports randomly on people and then going after them. Contact an attorney also lodge a complaint with the BBB (at the BBB you cant complain about the collection side of them but you can lodge a complaint about the business side of Midland) then lodge a complaint with not only your city atty office but your atty. general's office. Thats what I have been doing in the last 2 weeks here. Please even though your amount is relatively small dont give up the fight your helping not only yourself by joining in your helping others also. And dont pay them anything they might come back later to you and say it wasnt authorized by anyone and there is no proof. Be careful!
