Complaint Review: Midwest Marketing Concepts - Addison/Schaumburg Illinois

Where to start......I have read all the other reports that people have written about these companies and I agree with all of them right down to every last word that is written. I can't believe I was stupid enough to actually think that I could go somewhere with Midwest Marketing Concepts. Well...wait, I did...I went out in "the field" 6 days week, driving my own vehicle, spending my own gas, not getting a lunch break, going on work trips to places like Peoria, Champaign, etc...once again driving my own vehicle, paying for all the gas on my own, my own meals,and staying in shitty hotels, sleeping with 2 people per bed, and working long A*s days!!!!!

I still have no clue how these companies can get away with what they do. I have reported my experience with BBB and nothing has come about.

If someone reads this, maybe I will be able to help them not get into the same situation I was in. If more and more people read these articles on here, that means less and less people will actually go through interviews and less and less people to support this stupid company.

If I would have been smarter and got on rip off reports before taking the first or second interview, I would have either not gone at all, OR would have went in and told EVERYONE awaiting a second interview what this company really does.

They tell you that you will make lots of money, get to a managment position, and run your own company within 6 months...it's all B.S.!!!! They just have you there to make their own money. They show you their $100,000 car in the parking lot (Mike Kriss) to make you want to work harder....but in the end you are just making their car payments for them.

I actually was yelled at multiple times by my manager Ellen Winters for not making enough money on my pay check. Why, do you ask she yelled at me...because I was not making enough money for her. I actually had to go out on Sundays and work to make more money. I worked Monday-Friday 8-8 and Saturdays 9-5. If I needed to take a day off for a doctors appt. it was frowned upon.

They are just looking for young/dumb high school graduates or desparate college grads. A question was asked one morning in a meeting "how many people that work here have a college degree", at that time, myself, Mike Kriss, and Ellen Winters were the only ones that went to college and had a degree from it. Pathetic!!!!

On Saturday morning meetings Ellen use to make us actually clean the office/bathrooms/conference rooms, etc.... BECAUSE Mike Kriss was too cheap to pay someone to clean the offices nightly. He would come in on Monday bragging of his $15,000 weekend trips, while the rest of us couldnt even afford rent. I worked with someone who actually was living out of her car because she thought that this job would get her somewhere someday...BUT...just like everyone else, she got fed up with all the lies, and quit!

All in all....This company, and all the joining companies, GQ Imports, etc...are rip offs!!! They tell you one thing, and then another happens. There is no way you can make money, have a life, or even try to find another job when working here. Instead of struggling for months even years working here, dont start at all! If you see them on Monster.com or Careerbuilder.com, ignore them...don't apply!!!!!

So to recap this company...

1. pay is low...commission only...no base

2. no health insurance

3. no gas money

4. no free time

5. work 6 days a week

6. no lunch breaks

7. and constant yelling from anyone higher than you in the company
