United States of America#2REBUTTAL Individual responds
Fri, September 28, 2012
I am the person that is complained about. As I read this, I have concerns about 3 points. The first is that the complain is addressed to me personally, an individual and not the organization I work for. We are a web company that sells leads and builds custom and template websites for auto transporters. This company did not sign a contract with "Me", they signed a contract with the LLC that I work. Complaining in this way, is like complaining about the waitress that serves you at a restaurant and directing the complaint to her and not "Applebees" or "Chili's".
There are 2 other concerns.
1. The Leads
2. The Websites
Let's first look at the leads...The complaint states, "We contacted this website because they said they offered auto transport leads. After signing up for the service which costs roughly $1 per lead, we started getting emails from multiple websites with consumer information including full name, email, phone number and details about the vehicle they want to have transported."
All of this information is true, we do exactly what they say. The ironic part of this is that is what they are purchasing, "competitive leads" that go to 10 people. The industry standard for competitive leads is around $1 per leads. To get exclusive leads you will pay anywhere from $6-8 per lead. We do what many other lead providers (in auto transport) do, gather info from forms filled out on websites. That is what was explained when they signed up.
There is nothing misleading about what we are doing, we state clearly on our website "fill out one simple form and get 10 shipping quotes" or "receive 10 quotes from top competitors". Our privacy policy states that "Our goal is to connect car transporters with potential customers, if you fill out our form and we feel that you could benefit from the companies that partner with us, we will pass the information you provided to those transport companies." We told them when they signed up that we do, as any website does, get spam and also communicated that we do not charge for those leads.
I guess based on what he is stating about our leads..."getting emails from multiple websites with consumer information including full name, email, phone number and details about the vehicle they want to have transported"that is what we do and that is what they purchased. To me, it is like buying a car and complaining that "it drives", "it has four wheels" or "it has an engine" because that is exactly what they purchased.
As far as the multiple websites goes, we are a web design company that builds custom and template websites for transport companies. We have literally built hundreds of these sites so it makes sense that the content is easy to find when you search on Google because it is copied and pasted into the new site. We communicate that they are purchasing a template site and it is the same as others out there. They do this because it is a cost effective way for them to have a nice looking website and not spend a lot of money. That is why you see many of our content on sites all over the internet.
All this shows that we are a legit company selling leads and building websites to help companies make more money.
