Allianz Group owns Mondial USA which provides travel Insurance through Access America.com Access America partners with CheapTickets to sell travel Insurance.
MY ISSUEIn my opinion this is a ripoff because I did not receive the insurance policy that I ordered. Now I don't want the insurance policy because I don't trust them. Access America charged my account and did not give me a policy number. My reasoning is that If Access America cannot find the policy number, then how will they handle a claim. I just want my money back: $15.67.
I am getting the runaround and no feedback. How can a company get away with charging my account and then tell me that they don't have a record of the transaction. My guess is that they have inadequate Information Systems.
DETAILSOn March 3rd 2010 I purcased an Airline ticket through Cheap tickets dot com and I decided purchase the insurance. The insurance was charged separately to my Primary Bank account in the Amount of $15.67. The Cheap tickets check out screen advised me that I would receive a separate email with my policy#, but I never received the policy number.
I called Access America (800-729-6021) on two separate occasions and spoke with two separate representatives. Each Access America representative searched for my policy number by Name, Phone# and Credit Card #. Both times I was told that they cannot find a policy number for me and each representative concluded that Access America could not have charged my account. I must be mistaken. This is a challenge. I have proof on my bank account. (note - yes, I sent them the screenshot).
I was advised to eMail
[email protected] and I did. I received an eMail from Tonya D telling me that they could not find my policy number. I provided my credit card number to Tonya and asked that my money be refunded. She emailed me (3/9/2010) and said she would take care of the situation. She said to wait 48 hours. I am now filing this report on 3/12/2010.
CONCLUSIONBe very careful about purchasing Travel insurance on-line with Access America.
