Please read this thorougly. It is not a joke.

In or about 1996, I was divorcing my wife.  Naturally  child support payments went thru Monmouth County Probation. The divorce finalized and I remarried

In 2008, I recieved a phone call  telling me I had money  owed me from the sale of a house. They said they could not release the money due to a judgement against from Monmouth County Probation. So I called them and was informed that the judgement was actually an over payment refund I never recieved. Naturally I went down to collect this refund.  I was told  I could not have because it was" in the archives now". So I demanded to speak to a supervisor. He was a piece of work. He told me he found the case  but they could not release the money to me/ When I asked why I never recieved it in the first place he replied. " We couldn't find you" I became a bit annoyed and  said " you could find me in 24 hours when I missed a payment but not in over 5 yrs??" At this point  he picked up his hand and 2 Deputies  were immediatley  standing  behind him. He said I did not have to be  so angry about it.  He informed me  that I could not have the refund because the case was in archives.

You may be wondering why this has taken so long? About 5 yrs ago, I tried to find a lawyer and could not find one who would touch this.  I was not going  bother with it any more until I saw an article metioning you.. I thought I might give you a try. Unless you think I am being petty. The amount in question is a little over $1,000. I do have a case number.  Be happy to hear from any one who may be able to help.

Many States have an Unclaimed Property agency that handles cases such as this when you are due money and the company/agency can not locate you.

It appears based on the link you provided this is out of New Jersey.  So perhaps you may want to check out their Unclaimed Property Division to see if is there.

http://www.unclaimedproperty.nj.gov/

This is the official goverment site, that does not charge.  Most states have a program similar to this.  So be aware if you run into any one who says they can do this if you pay them a fee...they may be a scam.

Side Note: I don't know who "you" is, but if you are refering to RipOff Report I am just a regular person posting and not related to this site in any way greater than that.  Just don't want to give you the impression that this was anything more than that.

Good Luck.
