Purchased 2 new strut assemblies, 2 shocks for my '06 malibu maxx, and 2 overload/ride carrier/coil over shocks for my rear of '06 GMC hybrid. i sent all documentation; "original" receipts (which they request; but i made copies), UPCs, and tenneco's filled out form to address after spending well over $400 to get a $25-50 visa gift card.

While my vehicles needed the repair; after getting several mail and email responses after attempting to get the small stipend (after i did all my due dilligence in the mail-in process, AND then having to constantly follow-up on four separate occassions), and then the company saying they would not honor their agreement, i am not only typing this scam/ rip off report, but i have since re purchased Gabriel shocks, and KYB shocks and struts, AND tore off any walker/dynomax exhaust products and replaced them as well with Hedman, DC Sports, and others.

ALSO, since i own and operate my own race shop, i am telling ALL my friends/family/customers/clients to stop purchasing tenneco products. i am also only installing competitors' equipment on all vehicles i service. i will always find a superior product (and hopefully comparable in price, but not afraid to spend more for myself, or spend more for my customer's and eat the difference) to insure better performance.

i have never had a recall or operational issue with any tenneco product; however, with this kind of 'corporations are people'/screw your buddy mentality, i'll happily never promote their product again. while i am sure that their Fortune 500; nine plus billion dollar, corporation will not directly be hurt by my boycott of their products, i can only hope that my purchases will help their direct competitors thrive; as if this is the way a loyal customer is treated, they REALLY do not care about their clients or products. Even if you wish to purchase monroe shocks, i hope you save your time and stamp, as their rebate is NOT worth it. thanks.
