I ordered some parts from Monsterscooterparts.com.  I knew exactly which parts I needed, and placed the order. They were for a Razor Ground Force version 12.

A couple days later, I checked my order status. I noticed that they had shipped out different parts from the ones I had ordered. The parts they were sending are stated on their website as being specifically for versions 13 and up. It even says that on their website.

I emailed their customer service with my concerns, and someone named "Ryan L." assured me that the new parts would work in place of the parts I ordered, and that my parts had been replaced by the parts they were sending me.

"Ryan L." had this to say, exactly: " I did some research and found the source of confusion. The original 4-wire control module has been discontinued by the manufacturer, and the new 6-wire throttle kit and controller replaces the discontinued parts. It will still work, it just upgrading it essentially from a 4-wire to a 6. Thats why the link ordered as the 6 wire kit and gave that breakdown. Sorry for the confusion."

Of course, "Ryan L." was wrong. The parts they sent are not a replacement for the parts I ordered. The parts I ordered do have a newer version, but they did not ship me the newer version.

Besides, I ordered the parts I needed, that fit my Ground Force, and that were listed on their own website. If they didn't have those parts in stock, or could not get access to them, they should not have them listed on their website. They certainly shouldn't have substituted parts that are listed for a different version of my Ground Force, especially without confirming the substitution with me first.

I emailed back to customer service and specifically said this:  "I still have a concern about the parts, especially the Controller, as your website listed different parts for versions 1-12 and for version 13+. It just seems odd that a part listed everywhere as only for version 13+ will work on a properly on a version 12. But I'll give the new parts a try when they get here, and see if they work --- you guys know more about this stuff than I do!"

Apparently, they do not know more about this stuff than I do, because the parts came in, and they do not hook up to my version of the Ground Force.

I contacted them for an RMA so I could return the incorrect parts that they sent to me. They actually told me that I would have to pay return shipping and a 10% restocking fee.

Yes. Because THEY made an error, they want me to pay to ship back the incompatible parts, and want me to pay a 10% fee on top of it.

I replied to them that it was their error, that they should provide me with a prepaid shipping label, and that there should be no restocking fee, because it was their error, not mine.

The unhelpful customer service person who replied to me, "Ed P.," actually had the nerve to say this:  "THe [sic] parts you ordered, you ordered online with no assistance from a CSR so if the parts are wrong, unfortunately it's because you ordered the wrong parts."

Seriously, Ed P.?  You shipped me different parts from what I ordered! You shipped me parts that aren't even a correct replacement for the parts I ordered!

From the day they packaged the wrong parts for shipping, I contacted them that they were not sending what I ordered, and made them aware of my concerns that the parts would not work.

Avoid this company at all costs. There are plenty of places to order repair parts. When they make an obvious mistake as sending me the wrong parts, and not only blame me, but make me pay for their mistake, well, that just isn't right.

I have all the emails and order status documentation to prove that this was their mistake, and they have no regard for the customer when they make an error. They will rip you off.

Now I have to pay to return the parts to this disreputable company and file a charge back with my credit card, all because they refuse to take responsibility for their own incompetence.

I sent the incorrect part (that I did not order) back to the company.

They did refund my full purchase price (no restocking fee), but I was still out the $12.01 it cost me to ship back to them a part that I did not order.

It's awful business practice to send a customer a part they didn't order, that will not work on the item they are ordering it for, and then to make the customer pay to ship that wrong part back to you.

Lesson learned. Never deal with a company whose terms and conditions do not state that they will pay for return shipping when THEY make a mistake.
