William Moore was contacted by Ron Carlton Construction to provide me and my wife with an estimate to have the gutters replaced due to the old gutters being rotten and the downspouts not sufficient to drain the rain away from the house. We had problems with the old worn out gutters causing water to seep into our basement. We are currently undergoing restoration throughout the home due to a fire that took place in March 2013 this year and decided to insure that the basement drywall downstairs that was being replaced would not get damp from seepage of water from the old gutter system.
When William (Bill) Moore came out he did a measurement and a verbal quote to us which was approximately $1510.00. This was to tear off the old gutters, install new 6" gutters and downspouts. We had asked him for a written estimate and for him to e mail it to us in which we gave him our email address. We had to call him twice to try and receive this estimate for our home records. Instead, he came out after we called him do do the repair and again asked him for the estimate for our records.
The job was done and we had asked him to send us the final bill and warranty information. My wife wrote him out a check for $1510.00 dollars and he promised that his wife would send to our e mail address.
Now after the job was completed it rained and again we had water (seepage) in our basement unlike we have ever witnessed before. His crew had improperly installed the downspouts and black drainage pipes.
We call Mr. Moore and he came out and re-did the downspouts himself by gutting the downspout higher and re-arranging the black drainage pies. we thought this would finally do the trick but it didn't.
we again had rain some days ago and also this evening and water is still seeping into the basement due to the downspouts still not working properly.
This so-called company "Moore's Construction" is not a legitimate company as I can find no Company listing in the Better Business Bureau nor can I find a e mail address to contact this company. I will be contacting the BBB of Georgia in the morning and to see if I can get them to help me. I had a bad feeling about this guy and company from the start but because of ron Carlton's reference to us to use him I am afraid there is something dreadfully wrong here.
I am willing to talk or meet with William Moore to seek restitution and such so I may not be swindled by this company.
