Morton Van Lines BEWARE OF MORTON VAN LINES Ashland Sherwood Oregon
Hi, I'm just one more individual that has been apparently "ripped off" by Morton Van Lines. My story is much the same as others. My furniture was picked up at Sunnyvale, CA (San Jose area) with a destination of Kalispell, Montana on January 13, 2008. My projected delivery date was to be sometime between FEbruary 1, and February 5, 2008.
To date, I have not received any of my life long belongings. They are also stored somewhere in Albuquerque, N.M. The story has it that they drivers "ditched" the truck and my stuff at this storage place because Morton had not paid them.
My things are supposed to stored along with another woman's belongings. I have sent them my inventory list and they are in the process of hopefully, through the local police department, allowing release of my belongings. Not only did I give them $1400 for this move, which was what I could afford at the time (I thought it was my best quote and felt assured that this was not a bogus company) I know have to spend even more money (which I don't really have) to go get my stuff and bring it home.
I don't care what kind of situation this company has found themselves in but when I hear of a storage house full of people's things in Oregon, I just kringe to think that there are businesses out there doing that to people. BIG lesson learned on my part and I will pursue every legal route I can to get my money back.
