To the orginal person who posted about this company. I would say you should cancel this contract and get your  money back. How long exactly have you had this contract for? Below is my story about this company. Sorry for the long story.

I purchased my vehicle, paid in full in Nov 2011. In December 2011 I received a notice informing me that my original warranty was about to expire, and that I could take advantage of an extended warranty through them. On the outside of this mailer, there is no return address, and says Urgent Time Sensitive. I opened it and it stated that my current vehicle warranty may have or is about to expire. So I want the piece of mind when it comes to car repairs. So I called the number and talked to customer service, they transferred me to a Scott Garrison, (Ext: 353) . Scott then started telling me the price($2495) for a Platinum Powertrain Warranty, which he stated was the best warranty they offered. Scott stated that most of the part on the vehicle would be covered under this Platinum Powertrain Warranty. Me being a dumb-a*s, I signed up. Scott then told me I could do monthly payments or pay in full.

I stated i wanted the monthly payments. Scott said there was a 130 down payment and monthly payment of $102.72 for the next 24 months. Scott then said I would receive the contract in the mail. 3 days later I received a letter from Scott stating the information about the monthly installments and when the coverage would expire. 1 week later I received the contract booklet.

Update*** on 12/31/2011, I called the company back asking them to cancel this contract as I couldn't afford due to a job loss. The dated I agreed to this contract was on Dec 16. So today Dec 31) I asked for a cancellation. I have 30 days to receive this contract, at which point a job loss and i didn't agree the all covered parts in the contract. I spoke with a customer rep and stated I would like to cancel this contract. The rep kept telling me to keep it and he could lower the payments and total amount of the warranty. He told me he would be able to give me the "Employee" price of $1996.00 and he would lower my payments to around $77 a month for the next 18 months. So me being very mad, I agreed to this just to make them shut up. I then got an email from the rep stating the new pricing on the warranty and was told it would take a week to get the updated contract.

Update*** on 1/6/2012, I haven't received an updated contract, so I tried to email the rep back via email that he sent to
me. WOW after sending it, i received an email stating the email address was  invalid and to try again. The email address that I received the updated monthly installments is [email protected] a company would have a legit email. So
I'm going to call them tomorow(the 13th) and tell them to cancel my contract since the 30 days haven't come. 3 days within the 30 days. I'll post an update within the next few days and type a review of what went on with the phone call.

Sorry about this being long, just needed to be detailed.

***Update**** Today 1/13/2012, I called customer service and told them I wanted to cancel my contract. So then they transferred me to my Rep(Jodie). I told told Jodie that I wanted to cancel my contract. He kept asking what was wrong with the contract. I told him again I wanted to cancel and I also told him that since I lost my job I needed to cancel my most recent big purchase, which was this contract. Luck for me I was in the 30 day period. Jodie gave me the run around about how much a new transmission was since my kind of vehicle is known to have transmission problems and his dad works for a repair shop and that labor rates were about $180/hour. After giving me his speech he
then asked if I could afford it, after this I said no since im jobless and I kept telling him I wanted to cancel. Finally I got aggressive and told him to cancel my contract or transfer to someone who can. After saying this to him he said "there's no reason to get mad over this and I'll transfer to my manager". He didn't actually transfer me. He placed me on
hold, about 10 seconds went by, and he(Jodie) was back on the line and said His manager told Jodie to go ahead and cancel this contract since I was within the 30 days. Jodie then told me that my down-payment of $130 should
be credited back to my account within 3-5 weeks.  I'll leave another update when I get my down payment back. Hopefully I won't see or fall for these scams anymore.

***Update***Today 1/16/2012, after my contract was canceled on 1/13, I noticed my credit card was charged the monthly payment amount. My concern is why would they do the monthly card after I have cancelled this contract. Looks like Ill be calling them again and reporting them as credit card fraud.

I know this isn't a possitive review site, but in the past I've had the Route 66 extended warranty on a previous vechilce.
This is only available from Credit Unions. I have filed a claim before through Route 66 and the claim was approved and there was no BS. I will be getting route 66 again and others should.
