movingcost.com - Nationwide Relocation Services False promises, excuses, and evadng, ripoff Fort Lauderdale Florida
Contracted with these folks to arrange for a mover. They were quite carefull in the beginning and set good documentation of the process. Claimed they were OVER estimating the costs to protect me at the end, and worst possible case I could never pay more than this quote. Also sent documentation stating that in case changes were made, worst possible case I could only be charged 10% above the quoted amout.
I confirmed with the mover on THREE separate occassions. The night before the move they left a message on my answering machine. Never bothered to call my cell phone which had been provided to them. The next day they refused to show up, stating I had not confirmed. This cost me and 3 other relatives a days pay each.
The next day the movers did arrive. No arrangements had been made for proper truck weighing and they attempted to charge me for several more hours of work and mileage.
Movers finally arrived at the destination several hours late. They demeanded 33% above the final quote before they would release my furniture and they demanded it in cash. Since they were late the banks were closed.
By the way, the customer service rep who had promised to be available till 9 pm that night was already gone. The office closes at 3pm
I need to get the word to as many people as possible about these folks. Do not let them cheat you as they cheated me!

You need a scorecard to keep track of all the versions of what they tell you, which they will always state is "accurate information." Such doubletalk you get dizzy! Because I was lucky enough to get my possessions undamaged and because I have a life to live, I am not spending any more energy on this. I was cheated out of several hundred dollars. Guess it could have been worse. Please warn everyone you know not to do business with them!!
