I say again: who is this Jacqie in ARIZONA? I find it terribly interesting to note that: 1- The unbelievably poor service I experienced was in Augusta, GA -- quite a hop from Arizona; 2- I NEVER SPOKE NOR SAW ANY WOMAN NAMED JACQIE at Mr. Transmission, Augusta, in fact, I never saw a woman at all! Now then. Back to the business of actually responding to this ridiculous rebuttal: WRONG!!! I did NOT order the incorrect unit, I ordered just the freaking transmission I was told needed to be REBUILT by Mr. Transmission. And it bears repeating: when I informed the shop that this way my intent, and that I was willing to pay R&R for the service, I was given every line in the book to make me believe that this was the greatest mistake ever -- in fact, I was made to feel like I had wasted THEIR TIME. Wanna know why? It doesn't take an astrophysicist: it was because I had unwittingly sidestepped Mr. Transmission of Augusta's BLATANT FRAUD. My transmission no more needed to be replaced than did it need DENTAL WORK. Oh, is it possible my new tranny needed adjustment? After the meltdown when I came to pick it up - you actually think I would give this business ANOTHER opportunity to soak me? It is absolutely appalling the level to which companies will sink to screw military folks - oh, they see the haircut and a steady paycheck, oh and a pending deployment (which I foolishly revealed), and BAM! It's off to the races. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE YOUR CAR OR YOUR MONEY TO MR. TRANSMISSION OF AUGUSTA, GEORGIA.

True that the transmission is the same as a Asian unit in design but you do have to be careful when you go to changing hard parts. Like you need a drum but because you replacement part is a Toyota you better get the other matching parts because Toyota in their way of saving undersized or over sized parts as far a machining goes will wait till the end of production and machine matching parts so the transmission will work. Good for them, A headache for us so it could cost a bit more, But then Volvo's can be costly to own. But truly Mr.Ts and AAmco are about the same the shop is only good as the sales man and owner.

The vehicle was diagnosed and it was reccomended that the transmission be rebuilt, the customer declined that reccomendation and rquested that a used unit that he purchased be put in. The custopmer oredered the incorrect unit and had to reorder which did cause delay. The purchased unit was instaleed per the customer's request. A cable was alos instaleed sinde the unit the customer ordered did not arrive with one. It is possible the cable did need an adjustment after installation and if the customer had allowed the shop the opportunity , they would have done the adjustment.T he customer chose the service he was rendered.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention: VOLVO-special parts at the VOLVO dealer? Wrong. I learned from further Internet research (and this was later confirmed by the gentleman at the Augusta AAMCO) that my Volvo was equipped with the AW-1 transmission. A TOYOTA transmission. About as common as could possibly be. Liars, cheats, frauds. Don't throw away your money!!
