In April 2008 I placed a bid in writing, using their bid form for a 2006 2901 Seaswirl Striper @ $70,000.00. Within 3 days I was informed that the 'bank' would not accept my bid (I had low balled it expecting a counter offer) but would accept a sale bid of $5,000.00 more than I had offered.
I accepted the bid, paid money down and awaited the bank release which came within a couple of weeks. Paid, sealed and delivered as represented without a hitch. This transaction was as seamless and open as any I have been involved in.
Each state has their own office and sales people. You may be treated differently in each but the representative in Washington State was great!

I was employed by National Liquidators for 9 years until 1999, I left because of health reasons. In those 9 years National sold, via the auction process, over 3,500 boats and yachts. I have never witnessed what this person claims. Yes, the accusations like his were always alleged but never verified, because it never happened. Only the poor loser bidders made those accusation.
The vessels sold through auctions are the asset of the person who lost it through reposession. The Banks have legal obligation to get as much money for that asset that is possible, the books are only guides not Bible's as to a vessels worth. The banks are not obligated to accept those values, they do in time accept the average bids that are placed, accepting the fact that what they are getting for bids and is what the vessel is really worth. The Bank in most cases will ask for a defficiency hearing to seek the difference of what is owed on the vessel by the person who lost it. The auction process establishes the average worth of that vessel from the buying public.
As for the Trailer, that information is published on their website, it's all spelled out there. I do not believe Bob the salesmanager was confused, I think the bidder was confused and did not like the fact someone out bid him. Think about it he's the only one in the tens of thousands who have placed bids with National and complained to this site. FBI investigation? My God get over it.
