Purchased a certified used 2009 Sentra Fe+ from dealership in Nov. 2012 with 17000 on the odometer.  Since that time it has been returned for repairs to the hood after it was found to have been damaged in a previous accident that dealership denies knowledge of.  Initially agreed to pay for half but after no communication from dealership or body shop during the 2 week odyssey trying to get it scheduled, and then get it back from body shop,  I complained and the repair was done at dealership cost. Now, 49000 miles on the car and I am replacing the front suspension one part at a time, initially it was the stabilizer links and now the control arms need to be replaced.

The driver side window switch also needs to be replaced.    In 1 year, with a car that has not yet traveled 50000 miles the car has had or needs repairs in excess of $1200.   I have since purchased my own car fax and indeed the Certified Used car I purchased was in an accident in Oct. 2011 that according to car fax, required the car be towed.  When I purchased the car the dealership presented it to me as in Excellent Condition.

I have spoken with the dealership numerous times and they deny knowledge of the accident, and further state they do not run Car Fax or any history checks on a Certified used car, even though they provide a Car Fax guarantee.  The dealership is willing to invest half the cost of repairs which just happens to be the amount any other garage in Elyria would charge to do the repairs.  I do not believe the added cost of purchasing a Nissan Certified vehicle buys you anything.  Even with the added cost you should still approach the purchase as if the dealership is going to take advantage of you.

I have contacted Nissan USA, they also deny the Car Fax report of previous damage and have since told me it is between me and the dealership, they can offer me no assistance.  I have filed a claim against Abraham Nissan with Nissan USA and I further plan on reporting this incident to the BBB as well as exploring my rights with the State Attorney General and the Ohio BMV.  I personally will not consider any Abraham car dealership or Nissan Product in the future and I am sincerely unhappy that I ever came into contact with the company or the dealership.  Further exploration on DealerRater.com, Edmunds.com and Yelp reinforce the shady practices of this dealership and Car company.

And did not disclose that it had been previously damaged and repaired.  Then they offered to pay for half of one repair.  I stand by my question,  Does certified used mean that the car has never been damaged and repaired.  Nick Abraham Nissan as well as Nissan USA have yet to answer that simple yes or no question

I am also a customer of Nick Abraham and have good things to say. I have had many bad experiences with dealerships prior to going Abraham's. I feel bad that you had a bad experience, but I wanted to say that the people there have always been very good to me. I am a single woman and everyone from the sales people to service have gone above and beyond, and always made me comfortable when going through service work or when I have purchased a car. So as you go on and on about telling anyone that will listen to your woes of buying a used car...which they offered to help pay for....I will be singing this dealerships praises.

Maybe if the dealerships didn't have to pay people to sit at their desk making rebuttals to complaints thay could just start being up front about the prodcuts their selling.

 I'm Not Mike

I live about 2000 miles away from you and work for a completly difrent Dealer that does not currently deal Nissan.

I havent worked for a Nissan dealer in years.

But here I am on my Coffee break, answering the phones and poking fun at you because I am not allowed to leave my desk at coffee.

What my coment comes down to is: you expected much more than any reasonable Human, or Dealer could do, you continue to think you were defrauded and you think you are entitled to better service.

Not so much, and this dealer did much more than they had to and were nicer to you than they needed too.

I stand by my previous statements.

2 weeks of repeated ignored phone calls and then having the vehicle moved without any communication to me.  I dropped it off at the body shop and it was not there when I went to get it.

You sold me a car that had been in an accident that required towing,  You even admitted the wear on the suspension was not reasonable for the mileage on the car.  More to the point, you sold me a car at a price that was for a vehicle with no previous damage, used in excellent condition.  Had you been forth coming with the information about the accident I would not have purchased the car.  As to the vehicle history, why do you not use the service you provide guarantees for?  You provide a carfax guarantee yet you don't use them?  Why wasn't a history report provided to me?  I wouldn't have any arguments if it had been would I?

Bottom line is you didn't actually do anything illegal but you did sell me a damaged car at excellent condition prices.  Your certification doesn’t mean anything and I plan on letting everyone know.  The best part is all I have to do is tell the truth.  Actually all I have to do is ask one question.  Does Certified used mean the car has never had any damage to it or been in an accident?"  Your silence and Nissan's silence speak volumes.

Really?

You are going to complain that they paid to repair damage the "Certification Inspection" (and that is what it is) missed and it took 2 weeks (an "Odyssey") to book and repair? By the way it Took me two months to get an isurance parking lot ding taken care of recently.

You are going to claim that a vehical that has traveled 30,000 + miles since a crash has hidden damage from a crash?

That the dealer should know more than what the Car History service they subscribe too knows?

That the Dealer or Manufacturer has any Responsibility or Leagle Liability after the warranty has expired and 30,000 miles has been added to the clock? Things do wear and go wrong on cars. So nothing about the issues sounds like it is out of the norm for this car at this milage.

It sounds like: The dealer bent over backwards to "make this right" as much as was possible.

If you still think you have a real greivance: You live in dream land, Please move back to reality.
