Nino D'Arena - Avoid This Salon At All Cost! ripoff, dishonest, rude, shady, suspicious Toronto Ontario
I just had my hair cut at Nino D'Arena at the Scarborough Town Centre. The experience was greatly disappointing, to say the least.
I had asked the gentleman at the counter for a master stylist. Let's say his name is A. A looked into the salon and told me that a master stylist was available and that the master stylist would be able to take me right away.
I looked at magazines and chose a picture of a layered bob but wanted a longer length (slightly layered to avoid the triangle look and a bit longer in the front). A took me to the chair and to my surprise took out scissors and a comb. I asked him if he was the master stylist because I was confused that he never mentioned it earlier. He went on to tell me that he was and that he trained for 20 years (though he looked quite young to be a master stylist) and so on
During the process, he also tried to sell me a flat iron which I found annoying. Near the end of the process, I was again surprised to see that the haircut was a straight, shoulder length cut with short bangs!
I tried to be nice about it and said that the cut was surprising and looked different from the picture. He seemed to get upset and then preceded to dry cut my hair and cut layers into it! When he was done, the back was all jagged and the front was uneven! It looked like a hack job! I asked him if he could straighten it out because it looked uneven and he seemed to get more frustrated. He even had to call over another stylist for assistance! This is a master stylist?! My friends and family couldn't believe that my hair was cut by a master stylist!
Needless to say, I left the salon very disappointed and felt ripped-off. I went to another salon and had it fixed. The hairstylist even asked who cut my hair because it was so badly done.
The next day, I called Nino D'Arena because I was suspicious about A being a master stylist; especially after he cut my hair. When I called, the person who answered told me that there is only one master stylist who's name was not A. I was furious!
I asked to speak with the manager who happened to be the master stylist. When I told him my story, he suddenly and conveniently told me that A was a master stylist after all! Hmmm! The manager then hurriedly got off the phone with no concern or apology! A reputable business would ensure that its customers are satisfied and if not, do whatever it could to express its regret and ease the customer's disappointment.
Basically, the salon seems to be quite shady with their business dealings and if that hair cut was the product of one of Nino D'Arena's master stylists then I would AVOID THAT SALON AT ALL COST!
