Complaint Review: Nottingham Farms - Knoxville Tennessee

 I wanted to reply to the person that has wrote lies about this horse camp! The person that wrote the cruel report should be ashamed of themselves. This is a horse camp that Sherry Peels started to give children that had been through various illnesses & some are still going through those illnesses. But all as far as I know are still dealing with the frequent hospital visits & multiple tests. This is a place for a week that our kids can be kids for a change. Sherry loves these kids & puts her whole heart into making their dreams come true. Its through her love as well as the kind hearts of the sponsors that these kids can have a week of smiles. So from this moms heart, thank you Sherry Peels Nottingham farm & thank you to all the sponsors for loving & caring enough about our kids to overlook the words from the person that is trying to destroy something so beautiful & break these sweet kids hearts.

 Nothingham farm is the best horse camp ever! My daughter has been going to the farm going on 4 years, she looks forward to it every year. I can't understand ANY negative comments that ANYONE would say about this camp. Sherry Peels runs this camp from the kindness of her heart. She understands what it's like to have a sick child & she started this camp so that the children would have a week a year that they could get away from all the hospital visits, needle sticks, xrays, CT's, MRI's & I could go on & on about what these precious children have to endure. So why in the world would anyone want to say anything negative. She charges the families nothing, so if she was all about money she would be asking for it from all the families but she has NEVER. This sweet lady is guilty of nothing but love. She loves all the children & with that love she shares her love of horses. These horses are therapy for these children. Every year they learn more & more about the horses. The children love Nottingham farm & Sherry Peels. I also want to say thank you to the sponsors & want to thank you for caring about our children because without you & Nottingham farm our children might never get to go to this special, special place. We pray Nottingham Farm will be here for years & years to come, so that our children can build on these special memories.

 Sherry Peels is not running a scam or using children! Anyone that has accused her of this is a liar & has a very cold heart. I've known this lady for 4 yrs & she has a heart of gold & loves these children. She's shown nothing but love & kindness to my child who was sick from an early age & still endures frequent testing to make sure her cancer hasn't returned, this is the 1 place that she, as well as the other children can go to get away from it all. So don't talk negative & spread mean rumors on someone that is trying to make a positive difference in this world, this world needs more good people like Sherry Peels in it, so please stop bashing her & this camp. Our children love her & her beautiful horses.

I want to write in defense of this wonderful camp, my child goes to this camp every year at no charge & we are so thankful to Sherry Peels & sponsors for loving & caring for our child as well as all the other children that get to learn about these sweet horses through this great horse camp. I know for a fact that the children get a lot of one on one experience with all the horses, this is the best therapy in the world for sick children, it has done wonders for our child.. The children get to ride daily, they get to paint & wash the horses & the horses love it, the horses are very tame & love the children as much as the children love them, total therapy for all involved..The children do get to do some crafts but there's a lot more one on one contact with the horses than crafts. Sherry Peels, her family & Nottingham Farm are legit!! She's a beautiful person with a huge heart & our family thanks God daily that He has given us the opportunity to know such a sweet, loving family like this.

My child has been going to this camp for several years now & this camp has been the best therapy for her. She is a cancer survivor & has been through a lot in her life, at a very young age but the care & love that Sherry Peels has shown to her as well as all the children that she helps from hospitals all over has been a true Godsend to us! Our daughter loves Sherry & family as well as her beautiful horses. These horses are the best therapy for sick children, the horses are so gentle with the children, it's beautiful just to watch the love they share. Anyone that has anything negative to say about this camp is wrong & should be ashamed. All that Sherry is guilty of is opening her heart & home to our families & loving our children like her own! I want to also thank the sponsors that help make it possible for our children to experience a dream that all children have & wouldn't have if it wasn't for the sponsors having a huge heart just like Sherry Peels. This is the kind of love that this big world needs SO MUCH more of!!!

I am a parent who had a very sick child, who went to this camp.  Sure it's a camp. HOWEVER, she charges "sponsors" $600 per kid.  Do your homework, there is NOT a horse camp in Knoxville that charges this much.  She gets footing donated to make her rings perfect, lots of donations to make HER barn better, doesn't pay anything b/c she says it is all for these sweet cancer kids.  My child was there, spent much of the day coloring on coloring pages printed off the computer, some art time via donations, VERY LITTLE time on a horse, teen volunteers to help.  SHE IS MAKING A TON OF MONEY OFF CUTE BALD KIDS!  If she was in it for the kids, she would donate her barn, she wouldn't make $600 per kid.  

She asked my child to come on another week during the end of week ceremony so the sponsors could see the kids.  The week was not full, for camper spots, however she still took the $600 to sponsor a child who was not there.  Asking my child to step in to make it look like the sponsor did indeed sponsor a child.  THIS MAKES ME SICK!  The little kids that go don't know any better, she can pull it off.  My child was a bit older, told me everything.  They were long hot days with maybe a few minutes on horses.  So, yes, it's a camp.  If you are familiar with horses, horse camps, are a parent to a cancer kid and know of honest organizations it is very easy to see her scam.  I am familiar with all these things!  She is over the top nice, a con artist, she can suck you in.  BEWARE!

 I am a paramedic with the ambulance service and for the last 4-5 years I have provided medical services for Sherry and the horse camp. These children come from hospitals all over East Tennessee so if you call ETCH of course they will not know what you are talking about. This is an amazing camp that provides a wonderful opportunity for these children, most have never had the chance to even see a horse. For a few days these kids can act normal and act like nothing is wrong. I know for a fact this camp is real because I have worked and provided the care these children need during these camps. So instead of hiding behind an Internet site call and visit for yourself but don't take away the opportunity of these amazing kids to enjoy some of their summer. I have seen these kids grow from the first camp and I look forward to seeing them every year and I enjoy meeting new kids every year.

 First I would like to say it's people like this lady that make it hard for people to do nice things for someone. Second of all my kids have been attending this camp for years. This camp is not affiliated with Children's hospital so if you the hospital of course they won't know anything g about it. She does this camp out of her own good heart. Some kids can only make a few days a week but this camp has done wonders for these kids. For someone to bash and say this camp is fake infuriates me. Apparently this lady has a personal issue with Sherry and the Farm. If that's the case she needs to handle it another way and not take it out against the kids. This post hurts future sponsors which in turn hurts the kids. And my kids love sherry and this camp.

 My litlle girl has a rare form of Epilepsy called Dravet. She can have seizures that last for hours and it can be fatal. She is an ongoing patient at East Tenn Childrens Hospital. My daughter has been going to Nottingham Farms for 3 years now. Sherry Peel started a horse camp for children with severe illnesses after her own daughter was diagnosed with a severe illness.  

Sherry Peel is a wonderful selfless person that loves and cares for each child that comes to her camp. She is kind and patient as she teaches them to ride horses. It seems as if the horses know that they have a very special rider. Nottingham Farms is a place for these children to just be a kid. The activities that most take for granted are a special treat to them. My daughter has experienced many first's at the camp. This year she was finally able to get in a pool without worry since EMS was at the standby.

I want to thank all of the sponsers that have opened their hearts to these children. Without you and the wonderful Nottingham Farm family these children might not have been able to experience all that they have. To see the huge smiles on thier faces when they acomplish something new brings tears to this mother's eyes. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Sherry Peel.

 First of all I want to say my daughter is an ongoing patient of East Tn Children's hospital. She's 6 year old & is a cancer survivor. My daughter has been going to Sherry Peels horse camp for 3 years & I know first hand that it is an honest horse camp owned by Sherry Peels which she started due to her own child being diagnosed with Stevens Johnson Syndrome. She started the camp for children with severe illnesses. She takes in children from all hospitals. She does everything for the children from her heart because she loves them all & understands the children as well as parents because she has been through a life changing illness with her own child. She wants to give them therapeutic help through the love of horses as well as the children's love of horses. My daughter came to the farm 3 years ago & was so withdrawn, she had been so sick & at first was scared of the horses, but now she rides the horses & is so out going with all the children, she's made so many friends. This camp has been a true Godsend for our little girl as well as all the other children. Sherry is the most honest, kind, person I know. She works so hard for all our children, that otherwise would never have this opportunity if it wasn't for her love, devotion & caring heart.
