It is always best to hire someone skilled to do so, unfortunately in most cases these companies dedicated to cancel timeshares usually cheat for the second time to their customers since they are vulnerable and desperate. If you are thinking of hiring them you just have to make sure you do not have to make any payment upfront ... I found these articles that speak precisely about this, you should read them, that might help you to resolve many doubts:

Timeshare industry is known for being very susceptible to scams; however, timeshare properties are still a successful business for most resorts. In these times of rough economy, it is important to take care of our money, and timeshares are not in the way to achieve the financial security that we are all looking for.

"Hi Mrs. Victoria
It is very unfortunate that happened to you, here at Occidental Vacation Club we care about our costumers and we would like to help you get through this.
As of today, we serve more than 23,000 happy families who have entrusted to fulfill their vacation needs year after year. The club has been serving ever since 1993 while winning numerous prizes and recognitions within the hotel industry.
First of all, ovc t's not considered a timeshare, it is a destination club. What we sell is the acces to any of our available properties, not an specific unit.
Second, any day arrivals are valid when referring to the bonus time usage, nonetheless, the owner weekend has to be from saturday to saturday so we can keep track of full weeks, so we (the vacation club) can pay the hotel. That's a key rule that's stated in our contract and terms.
Third, when referring to the "first club privileges" and "superior all inclusive convenience and value", nowhere in the contract is stated that is "free of charge", it is stated that there's a mandatory all inclusive fee that everyone has to pay in order to enjoy the amenities without charge. There is a charge the owner has to pay in order to have it all inclusive.
We would like to talk to you in order to solve your problem, it would be very helpful if you can send me your info to [email protected] and we'll get in touch with you as soon as we can.
Thank You and have a nice day
