Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Well, we originally had been under a forbearance plan with HUD. Then OCWEN took over when the 3 year period was up. We thought that we would have to pay our reg mtg payment + more per month. For a few years all was ok, and our payments went to the New Jersey office. It posted fine.

Then A year ago we were told to send our payments to the California payment center. We did this every month. We filled out a new request for financial information in Late January 2002, and sent it to them in Orlando.

Today Feb 19, 2002 we got our monthly mtg bill. The payment was doubled! We called and a lady named Mariah spoke to my husband. She said that OCWEN had no record of our payment from ..get this...January 2001... Now this is over one year ago. Mariah told my husband that she wanted us to get our bank statements for the entire past year and send it to them!!!!!!!!!!

Not one month ,you understand but for a 12 month period. I told my husband that that was stupid. If they have record of our payment for Dec 1 2000 and for Feb 1 2001 then why on earth would she be requesting our statements ( Cancelled checks) for a 12 month period.!!! We do not get our checks back from the bank every month and we have to ask our bank to get it from the microfilm. Three checks are free and the rest we will have to pay for.

I think something stinks in Denmark...are you aware that large corporations are under scrutiny since the ENRON Debacle??????? OCWEN seems to have some incompetent accounting if not shady. You know what I think?? I think that they are appraising property values and by screwing around with peoples accounts then foreclosing they can make some really big profits when they resell the properties at higher market values.

There was a scam with HUD I think, a few years back that involved exactly this. Obviously from the posts that I have read, my problem is not an isolated incident with OCWEN. Since OCWEN is a bank, they have a higher accountability.

Banks are held accountable, more so than mere mortgage companies.

If the feds really take a look at OCWEN, perhaps something will be done.

I see that many are posting to this website and I really hope that you have real complaints against OCWEN. If your posts are genuine and if you are ready to complain against OCWEN then you need to gather information.I am proposing this solution:
Each one of you who has a complaint or problem that was not resolved with OCWEN write it down. If no one complains, then nothing gets done. It's the squeaky wheel deal. You can file complaints online with various agencies , but unless they receive numerous complaints, they deem it an isolated incident.
First your letters must contain proof of some type. Receipts, and other documentation that you have paid OCWEN, etc. Since OCWEN is a bank, they have to account for every $ that they have. I worked as a teller in a S&L many years ago, and they always know when tellers posted off. The money that you send every month has to go somewhere, or they have an overbalance of funds. So OCWEN is well aware that they have a problem. Thing is, they are either ignoring the problem or they have serious accounting problems. Or a combination of both. ENRON had similar problems. If it took them over one year to "find" that I was supposedly behind one month because they said I missed a payment for January 1, 2001 then they really do have a serious accounting problem. Since many of us are in different states, we really do have to find a way to complain through a middle source.
That's what attorneys are for. This is the basis of most class action lawsuits. So, I suggest that if any attorneys out there are reading this, you need to post an advertisement of some sort on this site, so that each of us can contact you with our details. If any of you are working with attorneys, make sure that they know about this site, and ask them if they want to take on OCWEN. Until either the media or lawyers get involved for us, we are fighting windmills. The time is ripe now since ENRON went under and lawmakers will listen when presented with proper evidence.
Anyone who wants to contact me on the OCWEN subject may do so at
