I believe the first step to stop these unwarranted checks on your credit is to Opt Out with all 4 CRAs. Companies you already do business with can still hit your report, but this stops the CRAs from giving out information to those that might want to offer you pre-approved offers, etc.. This is how you Opt Out: If you call one, you are opting-out with all 3. I am not sure, but I believe you are opting out with the 4th one.....the name escapes me at the moment. Equifax P.O. Box 740241 Atlanta, GA 30374-0241 Report fraud: Call (800) 525-6285 and write to address above Order credit report: (800) 685-1111 Opt out of pre-approved offers of credit: (1-888-567-8688) The Big 3 Credit Bureaus now use the same telephone number-- (1-888-567-8688) or 1-888-5-OPTOUT.

Perhaps the reason they are checking your Credit, as they do with Millions of Americans is because they would like to offer you a Line of Credit. These "Soft" Inquiries are permitted by law, and I don't see a problem unless they were pulling "Hard" Inquiries on you.
