I received a notice from the school receiptionst at Pacific Modeling and Acting Academy PMAA, that the school is out of business as of today. It is impossible to talk to anyone because you only get answer machines and a message service for John Robert Powers in Santa Clara, Ca. (408-626-4888).

We haven't put out as much as some others, $2950 plus another $875 for photos and the portfolio (which we did receive). My daughter was only able to attend 3 of the 6 classes before they canceled everything "due to lack of financing" or possible bankruptsy. Obviously other things that were promised will not be happening as well.

I am not expecting to get any money back even though a law suit, although it would be nice, however putting someone behind bars would be FANTASTIC. I would love to get together with other parents of this scam in Washington state and figure out a plan of attack!

I was a teacher hired by the Pacific Modeling and Acting Academy to teach at the Albuquerque, New Mexico location. I and the other teachers here in New Mexico were taken in by this fraud just like the parents. I am doing everything I can to get the media and our local officials involved in investigating this situation, and trying to get as many parents in communication with each other as possible so that they can take whatever legal action is available to them. A parent in Seattle, Washington has started a blog online to help parents in the different states where this happened get in touch with each other. This blog also has very helpful information and guidance as to what parents should be doing on their own to start legal proceedings, including filing police reports, reports with the Attorney General's office, and the Internet Crime Center. Please see the blog for more detailed information: http://pacificmodelingandacting.blogspot.com/ You are NOT alone - this 'company' went from state to state and hurt a lot of people. Please don't be too discouraged by all of this - and please consider getting in contact with the other parents who have signed up at the blog above - a united front stands a much better chance of success! Best wishes, Debra in New Mexico
