PAI Permanent Access Inc. Charges $190 to apply for a job in Indianapolis, Indiana
When I called (317) 536-1110 responding to a Feb. 22, 2012 ad in the Indianapolis Star for an unbelievably good $18.23/hr Courier position, I was greeted by a recording which said all the lines were busy. I googled the company name, PAI, and found it was an "employment service." I thought it was odd that the "Job Seekers" link had no job postings and no process for applying or uploading a resume. I finally got through to "James" who was not interested in talking about the job his company had advertised, he wanted to know what I wanted to make per hour. I was puzzled, because I had told him twice I was interested in the advertised Courier position. Eventually, "James" tried to sell me their job finding service for a one time fee of $190. When I asked "James" if I had to pay him $190 for the opportunity to apply for the advertised job, the answer was "Yes." I told him it was false advertising, and "No thanks." With a little research, I found the Ripoff Report for a similar company called Employment 1. The websites are identical, except for the names. Watch out, Indianapolis! I believe PAI, a.k.a. Employment 1, is in the business of taking money from unemployed people.
