Palm Harbor Homes ripoff They lied about quality - problems never fixed - promises never kept Seguin Texas
My husband and I were very excited because we had found a very beautiful site, and since we had never had a new home thought this would be our dream home. Unfortunately, we ended up at Palm Harbor Homes.
The salesman and manager came on like gangbusters. How they "wanted only the best" for us and our family, how wonderfully built the home was. They flat out lied about most of the quality features. We cannot even keep pictures on the walls, the windows cracked at the change in temperature, the plumbing is a real joke, but perhaps the greatest lie was on closing day when we get there and when we are ready to close, we find out that instead of the 500.00/month payment we had discussed, we saw a 707.00/month payment. We felt devastated, but the manager assured us this was only for the finance company purposes, that after we got moved in and started making the payments, it would indeed be only 500.00 per month. I know, we must have been totally nuts. But this manager was a really slick fellow. He had us really believing he had our best interests at heart.
Now, we have a house that is falling down around our heads. We found what we believe to be mold all up under rugs in the master bath due to the shoddy plumbing. This has been a nightmare for us. We cannot afford the apyments, cannot move and are stuck in a house that is making us sick, both physically and emotionally.
